Kansas State is a 12½-point favorite versus Houston with the over-under set at 45½ points in the NCAA Football lines. Let’s take a look at my best bet for this Big 12 matchup in Week 10.
The Wildcats remain in Big 12 contention but need either Iowa State or BYU to lose in order to open up a spot in the conference title game. The good news is that Kansas State ends the regular season with a trip to Ames to take on Iowa State.
Interesting: In @amock419‘s just-updated CFP projections, Kansas State is the Big 12 winner and No. 4 seed, with BYU and Iowa State on the bubble.
-K-State’s Playoff odds are 50% and 31% to win B12.

Houston has been full of more tricks than treats this season. It’s not all bad news as the Cougars have won two of the team’s last three outings.

Top 2 Reasons to Bet on Kansas State
1. Don’t Get Fooled by Houston’s Win vs Utah
The good news is Houston is coming off a 17-14 win over Utah. I’m not sure this says as much about the Cougars as it does about the Utes’ struggles with freshman quarterback Isaac Wilson.

Houston won despite quarterback Zeon Chriss throwing for just 61 passing yards. Spoiler alert: This is not going to be enough to hang with Kansas State.
2. How Has K-State Remained a Big 12 Contender?
Yes, Kansas State has had some close calls. Wins against Tulane, Colorado and Kansas were all by a touchdown or less. So, that means we can expect another close call against Houston despite the sizable point spread in the NCAA football odds?
Not necessarily. Kansas State has proven capable of hitting the gas with blowout victories. Just ask Arizona, Oklahoma State and West Virginia, who all were crushed by the Wildcats this season.

Kansas State’s one blemish remains a 38-9 blowout loss at BYU.
Kansas State vs Houston Pick: Bet Wildcats ATS
Let’s not complicate this one. Kansas State has been the better team this season and heads to H-Town with the much better quarterback in Avery Johnson.
The Wildcats have had scares this season, but these have all come against more talented teams than Houston. I can’t see Houston slowing down Kansas State’s offense or putting up points against the Wildcats defense.
Look for Kansas State to cover the big spread for my college football pick.
