Kent State vs Georgia Prediction, Game Preview, Live Stream, Odds & Picks

Stetson Bennett has yet to take a single snap in the fourth quarter this season for the Georgia Bulldogs and that seems unlikely to change Saturday against the Kent State Golden Flashes. In fact, the senior quarterback may be able to take a seat at halftime if the Georgia defense has its way with another team.

The Bulldogs have allowed a total of 10 points in three games and seven of those points were scored by South Carolina in the final minute of last week’s 48-7 Georgia win.

We’re going to have to play a four-quarter game at some point,” Bennett, who has completed 74% of his passes for 952 yards and five touchdowns and has only been sacked once, told the media. “We’re going to have to stay in shape. This isn’t going to happen every week.”

The Golden Flashes might be about to experience the biggest step up in class in college football history, going from FCS foe Long Island to the Bulldogs. Nothing they did in a 63-10 win over the Sharks will prepare them for having to face Georgia.

It’s a galaxy collection of stars all over the place,” Kent State head coach Sean Lewis told the media of Georgia. “There’s future first-round picks everywhere. It’s a tremendous test.”

The Golden Flashes were able to hang around in the first half against Power Conference teams Washington and Oklahoma, but they are not the Bulldogs.

The college football odds have the Bulldogs (+175) as co-favorites with Alabama to win the national championship. Both teams are listed at -110 to win the SEC title.

Let’s check the latest NCAAF picks, stats, injury reports, and NCAAF odds for Kent State vs Georgia. We’ve plenty of NCAAF predictions for you to consider.

Georgia Bulldogs

On paper, the Georgia Bulldogs‘ defense doesn’t look all that elite as they have just one sack and have yet to score on defense. In his first six years as head coach, Kirby Smart’s teams have scored 100 points on defense, including 15 touchdowns. Last season’s defense scored 28 points with four pick-sixes and two safeties. Rest assured, the Bulldogs have gotten after the quarterback. They just haven’t had much success getting them down, but that could change this week.

It comes back to being hungry and hunting this season,” sophomore linebacker Jamon Dumas-Johnson, who has 10 tackles this season, told the media. “We don’t want them to get a first down on us.  As long as we communicate and be in the right spots, we don’t see anybody doing anything.”

Kent State Golden Flashes

The Kent State Golden Flashes find success on offense by running the ball with a stable of backs and quarterback Collin Schlee. Marquez Cooper leads the team with 51 carries for 180 yards and three touchdowns. The junior, who now has 20 career rushing touchdowns,  was one of five Mid-American Conference players to rush for more than 1,000 yards last season.

Schlee has been better at running the ball than throwing it this season. He has averaged 7.4 yards on the ground while completing 60% of his passes for 508 yards and three touchdowns and two interceptions through the air. They will be facing a Georgia defense that has allowed 83.7 rushing yards per game and 3.22 per carry.
