Lean on Under for Wake Forest vs Clemson

Teams will each be looking for their fourth win of the season when the Clemson Tigers host the Wake Forest Demon Deacons on Saturday. Wake Forest returns from a bye looking to bounce back from a loss and get its first win in ACC play while Clemson will be hoping to get its second straight win after downing previously unbeaten Syracuse last week.

Both will be trying to boost their conference standing, but NCAAF picks favor the Tigers.

Mistakes Plague Wake Forest

After starting the season hot, winning their first three games, the Demon Deacons hit a snag and fell to Georgia Tech as their offense struggled to get going.

Wake Forest averaged 21 points through its first three games, but managed just 16 against the Yellow Jackets after turning the ball over five times.

Though the Demon Deacons rely on their passing game for most of their scoring, quarterback Mitch Griffis struggled in the loss, throwing one touchdown and three interceptions while getting sacked eight times.

Wake Forest will be looking to get back on track against Clemson, but the Deacons may have another long day ahead of them against a strong Tiger defense.

Clemson Rides Defense

The Tigers picked up their third win of the season after another strong defensive stand against Syracuse last week.

After struggling to slow down Florida State the previous week, giving up 31 points, Clemson bounced back against the Orange, holding them to 14 points and 281 yards after Syracuse had averaged 38.2 points.

The Tigers turned over Syracuse three times in the win while limiting it to 14 first downs. The Orange managed just 181 yards through the air.

Clemson leads the ACC with 266.4 total yards allowed while its 20.8 points allowed is sixth, and it should be a solid NCAAF picks for another strong game against Wake Forest.

Wake Forest vs Clemson Best Bet

Wake Forest was able to score through its first three-game win streak, but its offense ran into trouble against conference foe Georgia Tech. With a strong Clemson defense next up on the docket for the Demon Deacons, they should have issues scoring once more, especially considering the Tigers’ defensive strength against the pass.

Clemson, meanwhile, appeared to have found a scoring groove against a strong Syracuse defense and shouldn’t have much trouble reaching the end zone against Wake Forest either.

However, with Wake Forest limited, the Tigers still aren’t likely to run up the score enough to reach the 52½-point total from the sportsbook, leaving the under a good call for those making college football picks.

College Football Pick: Under 52½ points (-110)
