Prolific Quarterback Play Headlines BC-Ottawa Game
Odds Favor Visiting Lions
The BC Lions are as hot as summer in Las Vegas as they head to Ottawa to take on the winless Redblacks. The online sportsbook has the Lions as a moderate favorite despite their records. There is caution placed on the Lions and respect on the Redblacks as two games are not enough to get good reads. One thing we can expect: The quarterback play will be bonkers.
Let’s check the latest Canadian Football League lines, stats, injury reports, and Canadian Football League odds for Lions vs Redblacks. We’ve plenty of Canadian Football League picks and predictions.

Nathan Rourke is the Great Canadian Hope
It’s been only two games, but boy, has Nathan Rourke lit up the Canadian football world. The 24-year-old is already setting records and currently leads the league in touchdown passes, completion percentage, and quarterback rating. The Lions have put up 103 points and lead the CFL despite playing just two games.

On the other end, the defense has held Edmonton and Toronto just 18 points combined. In comparison, the two-time defending Grey Cup champions gave up 17 points in its Week 1 win over Ottawa. The Lions are forcing turnovers and have eight sacks.
Both of these games did happen in BC’s home turf so it may be a different story when they travel across the nation to Ottawa. The Lions did have a better record on the road than it did at home last season. But against the Redblacks, Rourke may be tested as Jeremiah Masoli is just behind him when it comes to passing stats.
Redblacks Can Match Wits With Anyone
Despite opening with the worst CFL football odds on the outrights, the Redblacks have already shown they are much improved. They have nothing to be ashamed of for being 0-2 since they gave the Winnipeg Blue Bombers all they could handle. Masoli lit up the Bombers’ elite defense for 711 yards.
Ottawa’s defense also made life hard for Zach Collaros. The two-time Grey Cup champion looked average against Ottawa, managing an average of 208 passing yards in the two weeks. The Redblacks will also get reinforcements as running back William Powell and safety Justin Howell are set to return.
The latter’s return is just in time as Ottawa loses defensive back Abdul Kanneh. But as an underdog, Ottawa warrants some bets online given the pedigree of their head coach. Paul LaPolice is still one of football’s best minds and with a MOP-caliber QB under him, Ottawa should contend.
Lions vs Redblacks Head-to-Head
It’s a lopsided series between the Lions and Redblacks. BC has won five straight against Ottawa and we have to go back to July 2018 to find Ottawa’s last win. The Lions’ wins over Ottawa have all been significant too: an average margin of 22.6 points. BC covered their spread in all of these games.

Lions vs Redblacks Prediction
It’s hard not to go all-in on the Lions here. Not only are they the hottest team in the CFL, but they have owned the Redblacks. In their last 10 meetings, the Lions are 7-3 straight-up and 8-2 against the spread (ATS) against Ottawa. Even with Ottawa’s improvement this season, the Lions have the better offense on paper.
The Lions have a depth of weapons from Lucky Whitehead to James Butler. The offensive line is supposed to be BC’s weakness, but Ottawa is dead last in the CFL with just a pair of sacks. If the Redblacks hope to pull off the upset here, it will have to find a way to pressure Rourke. Otherwise, we can expect a back-and-forth with the total likely going over 47 points.
