There was some excitement for Louisville (5-3, 3-2) in college football predictions this season in the ACC, with the expectation that it could challenge some of the top teams. The Cardinals have an offense that can move the ball against most defenses in the conferences, but that will be tested when they go on the road to face No. 11 Clemson (6-1, 5-0).
After a 3-0 start to the season, Louisville has begun to slide in ACC play with three losses in its last five games. The Cardinals did pick up a win last week against Boston College, winning 31-27, but it was hardly an impressive performance in the first of three straight tough road matchups.
However, the Tigers started slowly last week, not playing their best football. Still, Clemson turned it around quickly and easily beat Virginia 48-31. That was another strong offensive game for Clemson, leaning Louisville vs Clemson betting trends to favor the Tigers over Louisville.

1. Visiting Cardinals Struggle ATS
This game will be interesting for Clemson because it has looked terrific outside of a Week 1 loss to then-No. 1 ranked Georgia. The Tigers have won six straight, and the offense has looked amazing after to scoring three points in the opening game.
This was the play of the day from Cade Klubnik.
Not only did he survive the rush, he collects himself to make a tough throw on the run with plenty of touch to move the sticks.

Even though quarterback Cade Klubnik had a rough start last week, with an early interception in the first quarter, he looked excellent for college football news. Klubnik threw for 308 yards and three touchdowns, which brought his total to 20 on the season compared to three picks.
It was a complete game for Clemson’s offense, which put up 539 total yards (345 passing and 194 on the ground). On top of that, the Tigers have scored 40 or more points in all but one game over the last six wins. They are second in yards (490.4) and points (42) per game in the ACC, which is a big reason to back them to cover the college football spread.
Louisville’s defense has not been impenetrable, allowing 359 yards per game, which Clemson will surely be able to take advantage of. Furthermore, Louisville has been terrible against the spread recently.
The Cardinals have not covered their last five spreads, being favored by as much as seven points but underdogs by 6½. This is a much larger spread, favoring Clemson, but it will still be hard for Louisville to cover in online betting, especially on the road.
2. Is the Over Worth a Bet?
This matchup has a good chance of being high-scoring. Clemson’s offense is one of the best in the ACC. The Tigers’ offense has clicked into form with Cade Klubnik under center, and against a questionable Louisville defense, it should only continue to have success.
Louisville’s offense has also been good. In the Cardinals’ last matchup against a top team in the nation, No. 5 Miami, they forced the game into a high-scoring matchup. The Cardinals still lost, but the game ended 52-45.

Louisville’s offense is certainly not something to look down upon, averaging the third-most yards in the ACC (460) and 36.6 points. That was on display last week against Boston College as Tyler Shough threw for 332 yards and two touchdowns, helping Louisville score 31 points despite his two interceptions. Plus, running back Isaac Brown had a solid game, with 18 carries, 85 yards and two scores.
Given that Clemson’s offense will likely have a big game, Louisville’s only hope of keeping the scoring close is to go touchdown for touchdown, which drives the over for NCAA football picks. Even though the line is set pretty high, given how each offense looks, it seems like the best bet.
