2 Things To Consider When Betting Louisville vs Washington

1. Many of Louisville’s Starters Will Not Play in This Bowl Game

As the records indicate, Louisville Cardinals has been the better team this year, but bowl season might as well be its own entity. The combination of the transfer portal and the NFL Draft have made it nearly impossible to predict who will suit up in bowl games.

Key Louisville players like quarterback Tyler Shough and playmaker Ja’Corey Brooks are not expected to play. For Washington, freshman quarterback Demond Williams is likely to lead the Huskies offense.

Williams played sparingly throughout the season before starting against Oregon in the team’s season finale. Much of the Louisville team that has the better record than Washington has hit the portal or is preparing for the NFL draft.

Both @LouisvilleFB and @UW_Football arrived in El Paso on Thursday.

Both teams arrived at about the same time, which led to the very rare occurrence of the teams sharing a welcome reception.

2. Bet on the Huskies to Pull Off Upset

Maybe the collection of Louisville backups will absolutely crush it in El Paso. Williams’ dual-threat capabilities makes Washington frisky in this matchup. As of last week, Louisville had 17 players enter the transfer portal and another four players opt out, per the El Paso Times.

Per Louisville vs Washington trends, the Huskies are not immune to this issue either, with 15 players in the transfer portal as well. Yet, the majority of these Huskies are not key players.

I’d rather take my chances on a Washington team that appears to want to finish the season strong versus a Louisville team where the core appears to already be looking at greener pastures.
