A pair of 4-2 SEC teams clash in Week 7 when the LSU Tigers and Florida Gators square off in the Sunshine State. The Gators, winners of two in a row, are 2½-point favorites at home, where they are notoriously dangerous. On the other hand, LSU is coming off a brutal 40-13 loss to the Tennessee Volunteers. Can the Tigers rebound, or will the home favorites triumph for a third straight week?
Let’s check the latest college football odds, stats, injury reports, and college football lines for LSU vs Florida.
LSU
The Tigers may be underdogs on the odds board, but we reckon LSU has a few key advantages in this matchup. The first and most significant is quarterback Jayden Daniels. He is a true dual-threat QB who demands respect with his arm and his legs.
In LSU’s Week 6 loss to Tennessee, Daniels threw for 300 yards on 32-of-45 passing. The only knock on Daniels is his lack of TD passes, and his lone score against the Volunteers was a big reason they failed to keep it close. But Daniels has three rushing touchdowns and a team-leading 359 yards on the ground. He has 18 rushes of 10-plus yards, which is the most among college QBs, and he is the centerpiece of this offense. For better or worse, the Tigers rely almost exclusively on Daniels to do it all.
Florida
Florida QB Anthony Richardson has the passing yards to succeed in the SEC but needs to work on his decision-making. Richardson has a very sketchy TD/INT ratio of 5/7, with both figures placing him outside the top 100 QBs in the nation. But that is OK because the Gators are a ground-and-pound team with two running backs north of 300 yards rushing. Richardson has 286 yards as the team’s No. 3 rusher.
Entering Week 7, the Gators have the nation’s sixth-most yards per rush and 24th-most rushing yards per game. The problem with this game plan is the Tigers have a rushing defense that ranks 32nd in rushing yards per game. They also average 1.4 takeaways per game, which may be an issue for the turnover-prone Richardson.

LSU vs Florida Prediction
Both of these teams have explosive offenses with the potential to light the scoreboard up on Saturday night. The Gators have one of the best rushing attacks in the league but will struggle to slow down LSU on defense. The Tigers have dual-threat QB Daniels to lean on but rank outside of the top 40 in yards per rush on defense and may fold against Florida’s ground game. We could be in for a high-scoring shootout in The Swamp.
