Middle Tennessee St. vs Miami (Fl.) Prediction, Game Preview, Live Stream, Odds & Picks

The Miami Hurricanes are coming off a difficult loss to Texas A&M last week. It’s very clear where this team needs to improve as it moves toward Atlantic Coast Conference play later in the schedule.

It’s a bit of a cupcake this week, though, with Middle Tennessee State visiting. Anything short of a blowout by the Hurricanes sets off alarm bells. They’re a nearly-four- touchdown favorite on the college football odds.

Let’s check the latest NCAAF picks, stats, injury reports, and NCAAF odds for Middle Tennessee St. vs Miami (Fl.). We’ve plenty of NCAAF predictions for you to consider.

Middle Tennessee St. Blue Raiders

Middle Tennessee St. Blue Raiders has not played a particularly imposing opponent this season. The Blue Raiders have had their way with soft non-conference opponents, playing two teams from the lower division Football Championship Subdivision (FCS).

The one FBS team they played and beat, Colorado State, is one of FBS’ worst teams. Middle Tennessee St. finally gets challenged at Miami (Fl.).

While the Blue Raiders have not allowed more than 19 points in any of its three games, they have scored at least 34 points in all three wins.

In a certain sense, the season begins now for the Blue Raiders. We will begin to find out how good this team is.

Miami Hurricanes

An ugly affair in College Station, Texas. The Miami Hurricane defense played superbly through the game. Offense died, however, in a 17-9 loss to Texas A&M.

The absence of receiver Xavier Restrepo, quarterback Tyler Van Dyke’s favorite target, was huge. So without Restrepo, there wasn’t another wideout who could get wide open to make any plays.

Rendered a sitting duck by the A&M defense, the ‘Canes were kept out of the end zone and A&M wasn’t threatened.

A sobering moment in the early tenure of coach Mario Cristobal, who is trying to lead the U. back to a place of prominence.

It’s also a slap in the face of offensive coordinator Josh Gattis, who left Jim Harbaugh and Michigan (reaching the College Football Playoff last season) to join Cristobal.

There weren’t answers for a bad offensive line and weak receivers.

Middle Tennessee St. vs Miami (Fl.) Injury Report

Middle Tennessee has a clean injury report.

Miami (Fl.) wide receiver Jacolby George is doubtful. Running back Donald Chaney is out, as is running back Trevonte Citizen. Wideout Xavier Restrepo is out indefinitely.

Middle Tennessee vs Miami Betting Lines

Middle Tennessee St. vs Miami (Fl.) Prediction

It isn’t whether Miami will win, since they’re miles better than the visitors. The question is whether the Hurricanes begin to click on offense, compiling the huge numbers to cover for those who betonline.

With no Restrepo, it doesn’t seem likely that the Hurricanes are going to score a lot. Van Dyke needs to find a different receiver who can become a dependable downfield target.

That hasn’t happened yet. Expect Miami to win by 20-24 points. That means take the Blue Raiders and the points for your college football picks.
