Mississippi vs Tulane Prediction, Picks and Odds: Bet on Rebels to Prevail
On Saturday of College Football Week 2, we will get an exciting top-25 matchup between #20 Ole Miss and #24 Tulane. The game should be intriguing for college football betting, with both teams winning their opening game due to a solid offensive performance.
Mississippi had an outstanding opening game, beating Mercer 73-7, covering the spread by a wide margin, which was already sizable at 35 points. The first quarter alone ended 28-7, but Ole Miss kept piling on, preparing for a tougher matchup this week.

The Green Wave did not win to the extent of the Rebels but still handled their business against South Alabama. Tulane won 37-17 behind an impressive performance from quarterback Michael Pratt.
Ole Miss Offense Ready for Another Big Game
In Week 1, the Ole Miss offense started off hot, especially quarterback Jaxson Dart. He threw for 334 yards and four touchdowns on 23 pass attempts before being pulled from the game. It was an excellent performance for a quarterback with his job under scrutiny, especially since Spencer Sanders joined the Rebels on a transfer.
A QB/WR connection I’m keeping my eyes on this season is Ole Miss’s Jaxson Dart and WR Tre Harris (LA Tech transfer).

Dart’s game earned some trust from head coach Lane Kiffin and the sportsbook, making Ole Miss 7½-point favorites against Tulane.
On top of that, the Rebels did not feature their best offensive threat last week, with running back Quinton Judkins only getting 13 carriers for 60 yards and two scores. Facing a much more challenging team in the Green Wave, expect Judkins to get a lot more touches.
The most crucial aspect of Ole Miss’ big win last week was possibly the defense. Mercer was not a legit test for the Rebels, but still holding an opponent to seven points, 235 yards, 146 passing, and 93 rushing is impressive. Facing Tulane will be a tougher challenge for Ole Miss’s defense, but given last week, it should be able to hold its own, enough to slow down the opponent.
Tulane’s Offense Won’t Back Down
Like the Rebels offense, the Green Wave had a hot start in Week 1. While Tulane might not have dominated like Ole Miss, the offense did show it has a chance to cause problems down the road.
Quarterback Pratt had a nearly perfect game, with 14 completions on 15 pass attempts for 294 yards and four touchdowns. He also spread the receptions around, with no receiver having more than four but three different receivers catching touchdown passes.
Facing Ole Miss’s defense will be a much bigger test for Pratt and Tulane’s passing offense. The Green Waves’ running game could help keep the offense balanced. Tulane rushed for 142 yards last week but only 3.7 per carry.
One big difference Tulane has over Ole Miss’s Week 1 opponent is the ability to get after the quarterback. The Green Wave sacked the opposing quarterback five times last week, with seven tackles for loss. Getting pressure on Dart will be very important for Tulane to find a way to keep this game close for NCAA Football odds.
Ole Miss vs Tulane Odds
Ole Miss vs Tulane Best Bet
At first glance, given how both teams’ offenses performed last week, the over might seem like the best option for College Football picks. However, the line has been set very high at 67½, making it a hard bet to back.
The better option is taking Ole Miss against the spread. Even though Tulane will be a much more formidable challenge for the Rebels than Mercer last week, they still have the talent to cover the 7½ point spread. Ole Miss’s offense will be able to remain hot, with Judkins getting more touches and Dart building off his performance from last week.
Best Bet: Mississippi -7½
