The NCAA football odds have some familiar faces as the favorites to win the national championship. Georgia leads the pack at +280, with Ohio State a close second with +380 odds. We’re going to explore whether it is worth backing the favorites and identify a few longshots worth selecting when you bet online.

As for the Dawgs, there is a reason Kirby Smart’s crew is once again the favorites. It does not hurt that Nick Saban traded in his headset for his golf clubs as Alabama transitions to life without the legendary coach.

Georgia is returning a lot of talent, including star quarterback Carson Beck. As usual, the Bulldogs will need to replace the talent that headed to the NFL.

What Teams Should You Bet to Win the 2025 National Championship?

Oregon a Better Bet Than Georgia

It would surprise absolutely no one if Georgia once again raises another trophy. Yet, there is little value in backing the Dawgs given their short odds. Georgia also has their most difficult schedule in recent years thanks to SEC expansion.

If you are looking for a favorite to back for a little more value, head to the Pacific Northwest. Oregon sits third in the college football odds at +650.

The Ducks utilized the transfer portal this offseason and also landed a top-three recruiting class. Bo Nix may be throwing passes in Denver now as an NFL QB, but the Ducks signed Dillon Gabriel in the portal.

Oregon plucked another athlete who was playing in the Southwest, former Texas A&M receiver Evan Stewart. You may remember that Georgia boat raced Oregon 49-3 to open the 2022 season. Ducks head coach Dan Lanning appears to have closed the talent gap, at least on paper.

There are reasons to be excited about Oregon WR Evan Stewart. The former 5-star recruit, who transferred from Texas A&M this offseason, will be on the receiving end of passes from incoming Oklahoma QB transfer Dillon Gabriel this fall.

Look to the ACC for Value in National Title Odds, Starting With Clemson

Part of the secret of picking a national championship future is selecting a team with a realistic path to at least making the CFB Playoff. The ACC is going to have at least one program in the tournament.

Miami landed potentially the best player in the portal this offseason in playmaking quarterback Cameron Ward. We’ll know a lot more about Miami early as the Canes travel to The Swamp to take on Florida in Week 1.

Like the ACC, the Big 12 will also have one of the four automatic bids for the College Football Playoff. Why not take a flier on one of the conference’s top teams to win the championship?
