The best thing about Week 12 in the Big Ten is that it brings us a week closer to the matchup between Indiana and Ohio State. Indiana doesn’t play this weekend while Ohio State is expected to take care of business as the road favorite against Northwestern.

When looking at the college football odds, the Illinois vs Michigan State matchup is one of four Big Ten games in Week 12 with spreads in single digits. Things get started on Friday when Washington is a four-point favorite at home against UCLA.

Each of the ranked teams in action are double-digit betting favorites.

Four of the top 10 teams in our odds to win the NCAAF national championship are Big Ten programs. Oregon and Ohio State come in at No. 1 and 2 in the College Football Playoff rankings.

Top 3 NCAAF Picks for Big Ten in Week 12

1. Bet Northwestern to Cover vs Ohio State

Northwestern hasn’t beaten Ohio State since 2004 and don’t look for it to happen this year. However, the last two games between the teams have been decided by 12 and 14 points. Ohio State is favored by 28.5 points.

When looking at the Ohio State vs Northwestern betting trends, the last four times that the Buckeyes have been favored by at least 25 points on the road, they covered just once. There should be a little extra incentive with this game being played at Wrigley Field in Chicago.

Northwestern has won just two of its last 10 games as the home underdog but did cover in four of those games so look for the Wildcats to do enough to cover on Saturday.

2. Bet Over for Oregon vs Wisconsin

The offense at Wisconsin has not progressed as quickly as hoped since Luke Fickell was hired as the head coach. However, with the way that Oregon can put up points, the Badgers shouldn’t have to score that much for the game to land over the 51½-point total.

Wisconsin should have a bit of a chip on its collective shoulders after losing 42-10 at Iowa in the last game. The Badgers have had two weeks to lick their wounds and get a little bit healthier. That could factor into the NCAA football predictions.

Oregon has scored at 31 points in each of its last nine games and figures to go over 30 points once again.

Bet on the Oregon-Wisconsin game will land over 51½ (-110)

3. UCLA and Washington Could Battle to Bitter End

A month ago, Washington as a four-point favorite against rival UCLA would be an easy college football pick to make. However, the Huskies have lost three of four games since the win over Michigan in a rematch of last year’s College Football Playoff title game.

UCLA has won three games in a row by three, seven and three points. Since having back-to-back games against Oregon and Penn State, UCLA has played four straight one-score games.

While the Huskies and the Bruins are still adapting to playing longtime Big Ten programs, there is a sense of familiarity as the teams will be playing for the fifth time in the last eight seasons after moving from the Pac-12 to the Big Ten.

This could be a game that won’t be decided until the fourth quarter so don’t expect either team to score three times in a row when betting online.

Neither UCLA nor Washington will score at least three times in a row (+197)
