NCAAF Best Bet Teaser: Cash Again With Underdogs

Two of our NCAAF best bets last week were both underdogs and were integrated into our Weekly NCAAF Best Bet Teaser. Furthermore, those underdogs, UCF and New Mexico State, not only covered but won their games outright!

Now it’s time to do it all over again as we scour the board for our college football picks so we can keep cashing these teaser tickets!

1st Teaser Leg: Michigan State (+4 to +10) vs Indiana

If you’ve been a regular reader of my weekly Best Bet Teaser column, you probably know I lean heavily on teasing underdogs because it’s been a winning formula season after season. And like last week, I have two underdogs in this week’s teaser starting with Michigan State.

The Spartans are coming off a 38-3 thrashing at the hands of the No. 3 team in the country, Ohio State. Michigan State wasn’t expected to compete in that game, which is why the oddsmakers at many of the best online sports betting sites tagged them as 32½-point road underdogs. Needless to say, Michigan State obliged and the Buckeyes crushed the Spartans.

Speaking of Ohio State, the Buckeyes happen to be a common opponent as they also cruised to a 23-3 win over the Hoosiers at Indiana in their season opener. Had the Buckeyes worked out the offensive kinks, that score would have been much more lopsided.

So now we have two Big Ten rivals that are essentially of the same caliber, but the Spartans are getting a four-point head start and have defeated the Hoosiers in five of their last six meetings in Indiana. This will be a relatively low-scoring affair, which means getting Michigan State plus double digits as part of a teaser looks like terrific value to me.

College Football Pick: Michigan State teased to +10

2nd Teaser Leg: North Carolina (+6 ½ to +12 ½) vs Clemson

One of the first college football spreads that looked way off-kilter this week was North Carolina getting 10½ points against Clemson. I immediately took a bite of that and I certainly wasn’t the only one as the line plummeted to -6 ½ and is at -7 as of this writing. But that doesn’t mean we can’t use the Tar Heels as part of our NCAAF picks and parlays and, of course, our Best Bet Teaser.

UNC is ranked No. 22 in the nation and has won seven of its last eight road games while boasting a prolific offense that ranks 19th in rushing (198.7 yards per game), eighth in passing (322 yards per game), and ninth in scoring (39.8 points per game).

To be completely honest, I’m not entirely sure why Clemson is the favorite in this game other than the fact the game is being played at Death Valley. This Tigers edition is not reminiscent of the championship iterations from a few years ago. No, this is a 6-4 squad that only a month ago lost to lowly Wake Forest 17-12 as 21-point home favorites.

If the books want to give me the better team plus a touchdown and then allow me to add six more points on top of that, then I will take it seven days a week and twice on Sunday. We should also note that we are getting north of several key numbers (3, 4, 6, 7, 9, and 10) with the better team. Don’t sweat it, just bet it!
