Upsets can be hard to predict, and we’ve had some good weeks and some not so good weeks in predicting them this season. Putting upsets into a parlay can be difficult as well, but when you pick up a win, it is worth the risk.
We’ve looked at the schedule for Week 8 of the college football season and found three games that you should be including in an underdog parlay. Make sure you read our roundup of these upsets, then check the college football odds and put them together for a win this weekend.
3 Underdog Moneyline Picks to Parlay
1. Illinois Gets Big Home Win vs Michigan
A pair of ranked Big Ten squads square off this weekend in Champaign, Ill., when the No. 22 Illinois Fighting Illini host the No. 24 Michigan Wolverines. The defending national champion Wolverines are the favorite on the road despite the fact they continue to have trouble at the quarterback position.
Prior to last week’s bye, the Wolverines hit the road for the first time this season, falling to Washington 27-17. In that game, head coach Sherrone Moore switched signal callers once again, replacing starter Alex Orji with Jack Tuttle. It was the second such switch for Michigan this season, after Orji replaced Davis Warren earlier in the campaign.
Tuttle was 10-of-18 for 98 yards and a touchdown coming off the bench, but he also committed two key turnovers in the final 10 minutes of the contest. Still, Moore says he’s going with Tuttle the rest of the season as the starter.
“He obviously hadn’t practiced for a whole length of time, then got to practice and play in the game,” Moore said of the 25-year-old Tuttle. “They call him ‘Uncle Jack,’ the seventh-year guy that’s done it, seen it, been in the big games. He’s done a really good job and progressed, and continues to do those things right now.”
Tuttle will be facing an Illinois defense that gave up 49 points to one-win Purdue last week, escaping with a victory in overtime only after a sack on a Boilermakers two-point conversion attempt. The Illini must be better defensively this week.
Offensively, Illinois has the better quarterback in this one in senior Luke Altmyer, who has 1,426 yards and 14 touchdowns passing. The junior should be able to put up some points against the Wolverines, leading the Illini to the upset victory in the first of our college football picks for your underdog parlay.

2. South Carolina Gets Breakthrough vs Oklahoma
The South Carolina Gamecocks have had a couple of near-misses on upset bids this season, falling by three points to LSU at home earlier in the campaign and losing by just two at Alabama last week. But we have faith in the Gamecocks and believe the third time’s the charm when they take on the Oklahoma Sooners this week.
Freshman quarterback LaNorris Sellers was good last week against Alabama, throwing for 238 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Sellers should have a little bit easier time this week against an Oklahoma squad that ranks 13th in the SEC in pass defense, allowing 220.3 yards per game.
LaNorris Sellers is growing right in front of our eyes vs Alabama.
His accuracy has grown A LOT the rest of the season and the 19-year-old redshirt freshman is placing himself into @sluggahjells 2026 #NFLDraft picture with his 4th Down TD throw and then this 3rd & 15 big throw. pic.twitter.com/G8yznIgPby

Oklahoma has dropped two of its last three contests, including a 34-3 rout by Texas in the Red River Rivalry last weekend. The Sooners’ first season in the SEC hasn’t been as good as they might have hoped it would – their only conference victory was a tight win over Auburn on Sept. 28.
The quarterback situation hasn’t helped the Sooners’ cause this season, with starter Jackson Arnold being benched after committing three turnovers in a Sept. 21 loss to Tennessee. Freshman Michael Hawkins Jr. has taken over the quarterbacking duties, but he hasn’t been particularly prolific, failing to go over 170 yards passing or throw a scoring pass in his two starts.
He’ll have his troubles in this game as well as South Carolina finally makes college football news with an upset as opposed to a near miss.

3. Tennessee Takes Down Alabama at Home
After their victory over top-ranked Georgia on Sept. 28, the Alabama Crimson Tide looked like the odds-on favorite for the national title. But since then, the Crimson Tide has struggled, losing at Vanderbilt two weeks ago and barely escaping against South Carolina last week.
Now Alabama hits the road to face a Tennessee Volunteers team that is trying to get back to its early-season form. The Volunteers are 2-1 in conference play, but they’ve been less than impressive, falling to Arkansas before just getting past Florida in overtime last week.
Both teams have identical 5-1 overall marks and 2-1 conference records, so a win in this one will be big in the victor’s pursuit of a spot in the College Football Playoff. The Crimson Tide are the favorites, but we like the Volunteers to come through with the win in our NCAA football predictions.
Freshman Nico Iamaleava has some nice passing stats – 1,219 yards, seven touchdowns – but he will have to deal with the pressure from the Alabama defensive line in this one. Iamaleava has been sacked at least three times in each of Tennessee’s three SEC games this season.
But when the Volunteers’ offense is clicking, it’s explosive. Running back Dylan Sampson is a key to that as he’s already scored 15 touchdowns this season while rushing for 699 yards. If Sampson can get going against the Crimson Tide, it will help the Volunteers’ upset bid.
We see Tennessee able to hang with Alabama offensively, with the home-field advantage being the difference in this game’s outcome. Take the Volunteers as one of your upset picks when you bet online on Week 8 in college football.
PARLAY PICKS: Illinois (+134), South Carolina (+120) and Tennessee (+129)
