NCAAF Week 10 Picks: Bet the Over in Duke vs Miami

We’ve identified a few surging offenses to back, and maybe a couple of surprises like seeing Bill Belichick dressed as a pirate for Halloween.

1. Get Ready for Iowa Offensive Explosion vs Wisconsin

Yes, you read that correctly. We are talking about the Iowa offense, and not in a bad way. The Hawkeyes just dropped 40 points in a blowout win versus Northwestern.

Iowa is scoring points the way you think, which means leaning on star running back Kaleb Johnson. The playmaker has topped 100 rushing yards six times this season.

You may be surprised to learn that Iowa has gone over the point total in the NCAAF odds in seven of eight contests. The over-under is set at 41 points as Iowa takes on Wisconsin. We’re riding with the over.

2. Miami and Duke Put Up Points in ACC Clash

This one is not too complicated. Miami has star quarterback Cam Ward, which has led to a lot of points this season. Ward is +300 and among the front-runners in college football lines to win the Heisman Trophy.

While definitely the B side in this matchup, Duke also has the ability to put up points. The Blue Devils are led by former Texas quarterback Maalik Murphy.

Miami is 6-1-1 when hitting the over this season. Look at the data and you’ll see why we’re backing the over with the Canes when we bet online.

The Hurricanes have topped 35 points in every game this season. Miami has topped 40 points in five of its eight games.

3. UCF Hits Panic Button With Coaching Change

UCF feels like a living embodiment of that “this is fine” meme where the dog is drinking coffee in a burning room. Gus Malzahn has hit the panic button by firing defensive coordinator Ted Roof.

UCF is firing defensive coordinator Ted Roof, a source tells @On3sports.

The Knights have lost five straight games and are allowing 30.6 points per game, which ranks 107th in the nation. Roof was hired in January.

Malzahn also fired himself from play-calling duties it seems. The BetUS sportsbook has set the over-under for the Arizona-UCF game at 56 points.

My sense is we will see a bit more points from the Knights offense that has been entirely unimaginative under Malzahn this season. I’m also not convinced either of these teams can stop each other.

Things you never thought you’d hear: No one wants to face the Vandy offense. Yet, here we are as Vanderbilt quarterback Diego Pavia continues to have the squad’s offense as a legitimate threat.

The Auburn offense also may have found its footing in the team’s 24-10 win against Kentucky. It helps when running back Jarquez Hunter posts 278 rushing yards and 2 touchdowns.
