Favorites are always an easy pick, though they don’t always have the kind of payoff people are seeking. But if you parlay a few of the bets together and they all win, it can be a nice little payoff for you.
We’ve looked at the schedule for Week 6 of the college football season and found a few favorites you should stick in a winning parlay when you bet online.
3 Legs to Bet for Week 6 Moneyline Parlay
1. Indiana Stays Undefeated vs Northwestern
The top of the Big Ten standings heading into Week 6 has a familiar team in the defending national champion Michigan, but tied with the Wolverines are the Indiana Hoosiers. Indiana is not exactly a traditional power in the conference in football, but this year’s version is looking to change that in college football predictions.
The Hoosiers head out on the road this weekend to face the Northwestern Wildcats, who have struggled a bit this season. Northwestern (2-2, 0-1 Big Ten) is coming off an ugly 24-5 loss at Washington two weeks ago and the time off isn’t going to change the team’s fortunes this week.
Indiana (5-0, 2-0) has looked solid all season and just survived its toughest test of the season last weekend against Maryland 42-28. First-year coach Curt Cignetti has his team believing it can compete in the expanded Big Ten, and so far the Hoosiers are.
“We haven’t been 5-0, evidently, for 57 years. That’s a pretty long time isn’t it?” Cignetti said after Saturday’s win. “This is a step in the right direction, but we have to keep improving as a team.”
Senior quarterback Kurtis Rourke has been running the team’s offense quite well, passing for 359 yards and three touchdowns against the Terrapins. The sixth-year player transferred from Ohio prior to this season and is making the most of his opportunity in the Big Ten, passing for 1,372 yards and 11 touchdowns through five games.
Northwestern just doesn’t have the offensive punch to keep up with this explosive group of Hoosiers on Saturday. Look for Indiana to continue to make college football news by staying undefeated with an easy win.
2. Miami Keeps Winning With Victory vs California
The Miami Hurricanes were one of the easier college football picks of last weekend, or so we thought. Miami entered its game with Virginia Tech as a heavy favorite, but the Hurricanes needed a controversial call on the game’s final play to escape with a 38-34 victory over the Hokies.
How was there indisputable video evidence to reverse this call?
Miami got a Pac-12 command center call on this one. Virginia Tech got screwed.

This week, Miami (5-0, 1-0 ACC) heads west to take on the California Golden Bears (3-1, 0-1) on Saturday night. Coach Mario Cristobal has to hope that last week’s narrow escape has awakened his team, which had dominated in its first four victories this season, winning by a combined score of 209-58.
Quarterback Cam Ward has been outstanding this season and is currently third in the Heisman Trophy odds, listed at +525 – behind only Alabama’s Jalen Milroe (+225) and Colorado’s Travis Hunter (+475). Ward has passed for 1,782 yards and 18 touchdowns, with at least 300 yards and three touchdowns in every game this season.
California hasn’t exactly been a pushover in its first season in the ACC, though the Golden Bears are coming off a loss to Florida State two weeks ago. The competition is only going to get tougher against the Hurricanes, and we don’t see California being able to step up to the challenge.
When you’re putting together your college football picks for the week, take Miami to get the win on the road.

3. Iowa State Continues Historical Start vs Baylor
It has been a long time since the Iowa State Cyclones started a season 4-0, but that’s the team’s record heading into Saturday’s Big 12 showdown with the visiting Baylor Bears. Iowa State (4-0, 1-0 Big 12) has been fantastic on the defensive side of the ball, allowing a total of 29 points this season after a 20-0 win at Houston last weekend.
Offensively, the Cyclones have had sophomore Rocco Becht running the show, with the quarterback throwing for 896 yards and seven touchdowns while also rushing for two more scores. Most importantly, to help his defense, Becht has thrown just two interceptions on the season.
Senior wide receiver Jaylin Noel is looking to get back into the groove on the receiving end of Becht’s passes. Noel had over 100 yards in each of the first two games of the season, but has six catches for 85 yards over the last two games combined. If those two can reignite their connection, it could be an ugly day for Baylor.
The Bears (2-3, 0-2) have struggled defensively in their conference losses, allowing an average of 36 points per game against Colorado and BYU. Quarterback Sawyer Robertson did have 324 yards and three touchdowns against the Cougars last week, but he also threw two interceptions that were costly in a six-point setback.
The Iowa State defense is going to present problems for Robertson in this one as the Cyclones move to 5-0 on the campaign. Include this favorite among your NCAA football parlay picks this week.
Question of the Day
When was the last time Iowa State started a season 4-0?
The Cyclones’ 4-0 start is the program’s first since the 2000 season.
