NCAAF Week 7 Parlay: Favorites Michigan, Alabama Struggle To Cover

Most of the non-conference matchups when the powerhouse programs schedule and pay for guaranteed wins are mercifully in the rear-view mirror and that makes for some interesting decisions to make when it comes to the best college football parlays for Oct. 14.

Alabama came through in the Week 6 three-team parlay even if the other two picks bottomed out. Let’s go back to the Crimson Tide even if we are going from rolling with the Tide to going against Alabama as a huge favorite. It is a similar story to the Michigan-Indiana game.

Thanks to the Oregon-Washington and Southern California-Notre Dame games, a pair of Top-10 teams are listed by the college football odds as underdogs in Week 7.

Oklahoma, Oregon, and Penn State are the only ranked teams who have covered every game this season. The unranked Illinois and Vanderbilt squads have yet to cover in 2023.

Georgia (+250) and Michigan (+350) are the front-runners in the odds to win the national title.

Now it is time to take a look at the best three-game parlay heading into Week 7 with some online college football betting options.

Indiana Hoosiers (+33½) at Michigan Wolverines

Game: Saturday, Oct. 14, Noon ET (FOX)

No. 2 Michigan is rolling and it could be argued that the Wolverines are the best team in the country. Perhaps, with a better non-conference slate to challenge them, that would be reflected in the national polls.

The Wolverines have scored 45 and 52 points in the last two weeks to improve to 3-0 in Big Ten play.

However, the 33-point spread for this week’s matchup with Indiana seems to be a bit on the high side. Michigan is 0-3-1 against the college football betting lines in its last four games as 30-point favorites while Indiana is just 3-3 ATS in the Hoosiers’ last six games when listed as underdogs of 20 points or more.

Michigan has dominated this series. However, in the last five home games versus the Hoosiers, the margin of victory was 14.6 points. That is enough to trust that the Hoosiers can do enough to cover as huge underdogs.

We like Michigan to win this game, but not with that spread.

Arkansas Razorbacks (+19½) at Alabama Crimson Tide

Game: Saturday, Oct. 14, Noon ET (ESPN)

We are going with a similar logic when it comes to the Arkansas-Alabama game.

It is hard to know how healthy Arkansas running back Raheim Sanders is. If he is getting closer to full strength, he will team with quarterback KJ Jefferson to give Arkansas a 1-2 offensive punch that can rival any in the SEC. Keep that in mind when making college football score predictions.

Other than an impressive win over Mississippi State, Alabama has struggled to pull away from its other recent opponents with a 10-point win over South Florida, a 14-point win versus Ole Miss, and a six-point win last week against Texas A&M.

The last time Arkansas headed to Tuscaloosa, Jefferson threw three touchdown passes as the Razorbacks threw a scare into the favored Crimson Tide before losing 42-35.

Don’t expect this week’s game to be that close, but seeing the college football odds list Arkansas as a 19½-point underdog is rather tempting.

The 2-4 record for Arkansas doesn’t tell the entire story. The Razorbacks lost to a ranked LSU team by three points and if not for a special teams breakdown and a silly decision to go for it on fourth down in its own territory, Arkansas might have come away with a win over Texas A&M. Arkansas also threw a scare into Ole Miss so it could happen again.

College Football Pick: Arkansas to cover as 19½-point underdogs.

Ohio State Buckeyes (Over 49) at Purdue Boilermakers

Game: Saturday, Oct. 14, Noon ET (Peacock)

The good news is that Ohio State is still undefeated. The bad news is that with all the talent on this offense, something seems off.

The Buckeyes had almost as many field goals as touchdowns in last week’s win over Maryland and barely escaped with a win versus Notre Dame in the previous game.

Purdue’s defense has plenty of issues and this feels like the game when it all comes together for the Ohio State offense. The fact that running back TreVeyon Henderson is looking good to return after missing the Maryland game is all the more reason to expect to see some points scored in this game.

Among Big Ten teams, only Illinois has allowed more yards than Purdue so this could be a rather productive afternoon at the office for the star-studded Ohio State offense.
