3 Legs to Bet for Week 9 Underdog Parlay
1. Michigan State Keeps Rival Michigan Sliding
The defending national champion Michigan Wolverines (4-3, 2-2 Big Ten) have been struggling of late, losing two straight games on the road and dropping out of the national rankings. Now the Wolverines return home to the Big House but have to face the rival Michigan State Spartans, who are coming off a big win last week.
Michigan State (4-3, 2-2) seemed to find itself offensively against one of the perennial best defenses in the country in Iowa, racking up 468 yards of total offense in a 32-20 upset win at home as 5½-point underdogs in NCAAF spreads. The Spartans were also able to shut down the Iowa offense, especially running back Kaleb Johnson, who finished with 98 yards – 75 coming on one run.
That kind of run defense is going to be key against the Wolverines, who have struggled to get a consistent passing game going while going through three starting quarterbacks this season. The current starter, Jack Tuttle, passed for 208 yards last week but had no touchdowns, threw an interception and was sacked five times in a loss to Illinois.
The Spartans have one of the best young quarterbacks in the conference in Aidan Chiles, who has thrown for 1,468 yards and six touchdowns in his first season as a starter. The sophomore does have trouble with interceptions, throwing nine, but he was solid against Iowa, hooking up with wide receivers Nick Marsh (eight catches, 113 yards) and Montorie Foster (five catches, 100 yards, one TD).

Chiles is also dangerous running the ball, as he showed last week with 11 carries for 51 yards. But MSU must be able to finish drives with touchdowns after settling for six field goals against the Hawkeyes.
But with Michigan’s offensive struggles, the Spartans should have enough to get the win. Put Michigan State among your underdog parlay when you bet online.

2. BYU Stays Perfect With Another Road Upset
The BYU Cougars are ranked No. 11 in the country with a perfect 7-0 record, including a 4-0 mark against Big 12 competition, yet they head into this week’s game against the UCF Knights as two-point underdogs. These are the same Knights that are 3-4 overall, including 1-3 in conference play, and on a four-game losing skid.
Yes, BYU did just get by Oklahoma State at home last week, winning by three points thanks to a last-minute 35-yard touchdown pass by Jake Retzlaff to Darius Lassiter, but an undefeated record doesn’t seem to count for much when it comes to setting the college football lines.
Retzlaff has been very good this season, tying for third in the Big 12 with 16 touchdown passes. The junior has 1,644 yards passing while also leading the Cougars with 265 rushing yards, scoring twice on the ground.
UCF’s defense will have its work cut out for it, and it has been up and down over its four-game losing streak. Iowa State just hung 38 points on the Knights last week, and Colorado scored 48 on UCF in a Sept. 28 contest.
Senior running back RJ Harvey will get plenty of work this week as the Knights try to keep the Cougars’ offense off the field. Harvey went for 196 yards and two touchdowns against a very tough Iowa State defense last week. Consider him for NCAAF player props.
Still, we have faith in BYU to come up with another big effort on the road and to come away with yet another win. Take the Cougars to defy the college football spread on this weekend’s games.

3. Streaking SEC Squads Tangle In Texas
Two of the hottest teams in the SEC will square off on Saturday night in College Station, Texas, as the LSU Tigers visit the Texas A&M Aggies. Both teams are 6-1 overall and both are the only SEC squads undefeated in league play, with the Tigers having played three conference opponents and the Aggies four.
These two teams both fell in their season openers but haven’t lost since, earning spots in the top 14 of the national rankings (LSU No. 8, Texas A&M No. 14). The Aggies are usually very tough to beat at home, but their only loss came to visiting Notre Dame.
LSU quarterback Garrett Nussmeier is sixth in the country in passing yards, having thrown for 2,222 and 18 touchdowns this season. He has four receivers who have made at least 27 catches this season, led by wide receiver Kyren Lacy and tight end Mason Taylor with 36 apiece.
Texas A&M ranks eighth in the SEC in pass defense, allowing 209 yards per game and giving up just nine passing touchdowns all season. The Aggies’ defense will be tested by Nussmeier and the Tigers.
Quarterback Conner Weigman is back after missing three games with a shoulder injury and has led Texas A&M to two straight wins since getting back on the field, with the Texas A&M Aggies averaging 37.5 points. Weigman had 217 passing yards and a touchdown against Mississippi State last week, but he also threw two interceptions.
We like the Tigers to win this showdown for first place in the SEC behind Nussmeier’s leadership. Add LSU to our other college football picks for a winning parlay of underdogs.
