Notre Dame made quite the statement with a 10-point road win in College Station against Texas A&M in the 2024 season opener. Now the Fighting Irish face a Northern Illinois team listed by the college football odds with the fifth-shortest odds of winning the Mid-American Conference title.

This will be the seventh time in the last 10 seasons that Notre Dame will be facing a team from the MAC. Notre Dame won all of those games but failed to cover in three of the last four games. The college football lines have Notre Dame favored by 28 points in its home opener.
This will be the first game for Northern Illinois against a ranked team since a 63-10 loss to No. 25 Michigan in 2021. The Huskies look to put up more of a fight against No. 5 Notre Dame on Saturday in a 3:30 p.m. ET game at Notre Dame Stadium.
Here are three touchdown prop bets to consider.
3 Anytime Touchdown Bets for No. Illinois vs Notre Dame
1. Notre Dame RB Jeremiyah Love
Jeremiyah Love was a top-100 recruit and the No. 5-rated running back in the Class of 2023 who averaged at least seven yards per carry in five of his first seven games. However, playing behind Audric Estime limited Love’s impact and gave him very little work in the red zone.
Estime is now with the NFL’s Denver Broncos, and Love looked every bit the part of a No. 1 running back in a season-opening win at Texas A&M.
Love had 91 yards on 14 carries and his 21-yard touchdown run with 1:54 snapped a 13-13 tie as the Fighting Irish won 23-13 in perhaps the biggest win in Marcus Freeman’s third season as Notre Dame’s head coach.
According to the BetUS sportsbook odds, only nine Group of Five teams have shorter odds than Northern Illinois to win the national championship, so perhaps the Huskies will put up a fight against Notre Dame.

There’s not much reward for Love at -251 to score one touchdown but take a look at the +200 odds for the Fighting Irish running back to get into the end zone twice.

2. Northern Illinois WR Trayvon Rudolph
Trayvon Rudolph almost matched his 2023 touchdown output in the second quarter of Northern Illinois’ 54-15 win over Western Illinois with a 60-yard touchdown run and a 43-yard TD reception.
Things figure to be a little more challenging against a Notre Dame defense. But, since Rudolph heads into this week’s games tied with Arizona’s Tetairoa McMillan for the lead among Football Bowl Subdivision players with three plays from scrimmage of at least 40 yards, perhaps he can get free again for a score against the Fighting Irish.

Rudolph has three scoring runs in 34 career games so expecting him to score on the ground for the second week in a row might be asking a bit much, but his +450 odds to score a touchdown offer more value than running back Antario Brown (+325) in the BetUS player prop odds.
Bet on Trayvon Rudolph to Score 1+ TDs (+450)
3. Notre Dame WR Jaden Greathouse
Notre Dame quarterback Riley Leonard failed to throw a touchdown in his first game with the Fighting Irish. That figures to change on Saturday.
There are plenty of options. At 6-foot-3, Beaux Collins should be a tough matchup in the red zone. He had 11 TD catches in his three seasons at Clemson before landing in South Bend.
Jordan Faison had a pretty quiet opener with just two catches for 12 yards after averaging 16.9 yards per catch with four TDs as a freshman.
We are going with wide receiver Jaden Greathouse to get into the end zone.
Greathouse led Notre Dame with five TD grabs as a freshman. He was only targeted three times in the season opener but he could be a little busier in this matchup and worth betting online.
Bet on Jaden Greathouse to Score 1+ TDs (+140)
