The Northern Illinois Huskies look to find the form that led to a shocking upset of Notre Dame when they visit the Miami (Ohio) RedHawks for a Mid-American Conference matchup on Tuesday night.
The Huskies are a 3-point underdog in the college football odds after winning two straight while Miami is in a three-way tie for first place after five consecutive victories.
Northern Illinois won at Notre Dame 16-14 in the second game of the season, but went 2-4 in its next six contests. All of the losses were by one score, including an overtime setback against Buffalo.
The RedHawks lost at Notre Dame 28-3 in the third game of their season to drop to 0-3. They have won six of seven since, including five straight to stand atop the MAC with Ohio and Bowling Green. Miami goes to Bowling Green next week.
The question you have to answer when making NCAAF predictions is if Northern Illinois is back to its early form? We still see the Huskies celebrating in South Bend.

Top 3 Northern Illinois vs Miami Betting Tips 11/19
1. Huskies Ground Attack Unlocks Win
Per Northern Illinois vs Miami (Ohio) stats, note that the Huskies rank 11th in the nation in rushing yards per game and put up 550 total in winning the last two outings.
Northern Illinois had 255 yards on the ground to win at Western Michigan 42-28 on Nov. 6 and 295 in the 29-16 triumph against Akron last week. They Huskies average 219.7 on the season and Miami gives up 136.8.
Gavin Williams leads the balanced rushing attack with 631 yards while freshman Telly Johnson Jr. boasts 293 in just three games. Senior Antario Brown (567) could also be available after missing the Akron game.

Quarterback Ethan Hampton has not thrown for more than 200 yards since the season opener, but he has three TD passes and no interceptions the last two games. We think the Huskies are ready to cash your online bets.
Bet Northern Illinois +3 (-110).
2. Why Bet Against First-place Miami?
The RedHawks can grab a place in the MAC title game by finishing with two more wins, but it will be a difficult task.
Miami has won five straight, but four of the wins are against teams that have totaled five league victories. The other was a solid 30-20 win at home against Ohio.
Balance is the name of the game on offense for Miami. Quarterback Brett Gabbert has 18 TD passes and seven interceptions. Reggie Virgil leads a deep receiver room with 598 yards (20.6 per catch) with seven touchdowns.

Keyon Mozee leads the RedHawks rushing attack with 846 yards, including five straight with at least 100. Mozee has the lowest odds at -167 to score a touchdown in NCAA player prop bets.
However, Northern Illinois has allowed 114.2 yards on the ground and 170.2 through the air. Those numbers on Tuesday could win you some cash

3. Big Game Should Provide Bigger Numbers
These two teams have allowed a combined 37.2 points per game. Something similar to that will hit the under total in this game.
There is a lot of offensive talent on the field, though. We think that should lead to a game in the mid-20s for each team in our NCAA football picks.
The Huskies’ rushing attack should roll (5.1 yards per carry) and Hampton has been quite efficient the last two games Miami can move the ball. Virgil and Javon Tracy are both close to 600 receiving yards.
