Welcome to Big Ten anxiety week, whether either Ryan Day or James Franklin will get a win despite countless fans saying they can’t win the big game. Let’s take a look at my college football prediction for this Big Ten clash, sponsored by Tums.

Jokes aside, the pressure is on both these coaches to prove they are capable of winning a marquee matchup. Day has had no problem defeating Penn State, but his nemesis in Michigan has been a different story. For Franklin, the coach has to prove Penn State can do more than feast on the bottom of the Big Ten standings.

Ohio State vs Penn State: What You Need to Know
1. Will Drew Allar Start at Quarterback for Penn State?
Not sure if this is gamesmanship by Franklin, but Penn State has no plans to reveal who will start at quarterback. Veteran signal-caller Drew Allar is dealing with an injury that forced the team’s normal QB1 to miss the end of the Nittany Lions’ Week 9 game versus Wisconsin.
Beau Pribula would get the start for Penn State if Allar is not cleared. Franklin revealed the team plans to make the decision just before kickoff.
“It’s too early to tell at this point. But he’s played enough football that I think that decision will go all the way up to game time.”

“Allar has played enough football for us that that the timeline will go all the way up to the game, really,” Franklin said, per Sports Illustrated. “I do think from a practice perspective, we’re gonna have to, no matter where we’re at on Tuesday, we’re gonna have to get both of those guys reps Tuesday and Wednesday.”
“But it’s too early to tell at this point, but he’s played enough football that I think that decision will go all the way up to game time.”

2. Ohio State: How Did the Buckeyes Get Here?
As for Ohio State, Will Howard is out to prove Penn State made a mistake by not recruiting him. We’ll see if Howard is able to make this game his own personal diss track.
So far this season, Ohio State has wins over Iowa and Nebraska. The Buckeyes best performance may have been a “close loss” to Oregon on Oct. 12. Ohio State was defeated 32-31 by Oregon in an instant classic.
3. Ohio State vs Penn State Pick: Buckeyes Cover ATS
The challenge with evaluating Penn State is we do not know what kind of team the Nittany Lions are this season. Penn State’s best wins came against USC, Illinois and Wisconsin.

This does not mean Penn State isn’t among college football’s elite, but the Nittany Lions need to prove it. The uncertainty at quarterback combined with what Ohio State showed versus Oregon has me feeling more comfortable backing the Buckeyes.
Take Ohio State -3½ vs Penn State (-105)
