Oklahoma’s (5-4,1-4) first season in the SEC has not been what it might have expected. It won its second game in the conference but then lost the next three. Up next for the Sooners will be Missouri, which at one point was ranked in the top 10 in the nation but has since fallen, changing college football predictions.

However, Oklahoma ended its three-game losing streak last week, albeit in a non-conference win. They Sooners dominated Maine 59-14, which might have been a much-needed win to get the offense back on track.

Last week, Missouri was on a much-needed bye. In the Tigers’ previous game, Alabama dominated them 34-0. However, two of the Tigers’ top offensive players either did not play or got injured during the game.

Oklahoma vs Missouri Betting Preview

Injuries Affect Winning Pick

The biggest question going into this game is whether Missouri quarterback Brady Cook and running back Nate Noel will be on the field. The college football news will be focused on both players, and their health will be essential when making picks. Oklahoma is slightly favored, but if Cool and Noel play, that could change things.

Cook started against Alabama and did not look great. He completed only 7 of 12 passes for 30 yards. However, he did not do much better than the backup, Drew Pyne, who had the same number of attempts and threw three interceptions after Cook was injured.

At the running back position, there is at least a serviceable backup. While Noel is leading the team in rushing yards (503), averaging 5.9 yards per carry, he only has two touchdowns, sharing the backfield with Marcus Carroll. Carroll has rushed for 401 yards and six touchdowns. In the loss to Alabama, Carroll had 17 carries for 80 yards.

The good thing for college football picks is that Missouri does not lean heavily on its offense. The Tigers are only averaging 27.8 points and 399.5 yards per game, which is in the middle of the pack for the SEC.

However, per Oklahoma vs Missouri stats, the Tigers’ defense is ranked fourth in the SEC in yards (299.6) and fifth in points (17.9) allowed per game. Oklahoma did find its offense in its last game, but it was against a weak opponent. Over the previous three games against SEC opponents, the Sooners have scored a total of 26 points.

Which Way to Bet on Total?

Deciding where to bet on the points total for this game is challenging for online betting. One of the biggest questions is the health of Cook and Noel for Missouri. If the Tigers want to win this game without them, the defense will need to do a lot of the heavy lifting. Home-field advantage can also be a plus.

Then there is also the issue of Oklahoma’s offense. Sure, the Sooners offense looked good against Maine, but that doesn’t mean much. They scored 59 points and had 665 yards. That does not diminish the overall offensive struggle for this team, which has the second-lowest points (25.2) and yards (334.6) per game in the SEC.

The biggest thing to take note of in the win over Maine is that the Sooners got their running game going as Jovantae Barnes rushed for 203 yards and three scores on 18 carries. Jackson Arnold also had a solid game with 224 passing yards and three total touchdowns.

However, you should take all that with a grain of salt. Oklahoma will now be up against a good SEC defense that knows its offense will struggle to move the ball. That will lead the game going under for your college football best bets.
