It feels like ages since these teams last played each other. It was in 2020 when the Gators smoked the Rebels 51-35. But a lot has changed mainly with Ole Miss ascending as Florida got worse. The Rebels have gone 37-12 while Florida is 22-26. The former is a legitimate title threat while the latter can only play in a Bowl game.

Lane Kiffin has transformed the program into a powerhouse. The Rebels are ranked in the top five in both offense and defense. Ole Miss has traditionally been a prolific team but its defense is worth writing about. The Rebels lead the nation in tackles for loss (108). D.J. Lagway is a nice quarterback but he’s still hobbled with a hamstring injury. The offensive line is also underperforming and this is a bad combo going against the dominant Ole Miss pass rush. The Gators will be under pressure all game making it hard to put up points.

Offensively, the Rebels can wear down the Gators with their running game. Florida gives up 167.3 rushing yards per contest. While Ole Miss can struggle to run the ball traditionally, Jaxson Dart will be difficult to stop.
