Oregon State Facing San Diego State is Turning Into A NCAAF Best Bet
In the first two games of the season, No. 12 Oregon State got to beat up lesser opponents and will get to do so again when it faces San Diego State. The Beavers’ success has led to a large spread in their matchup against the Aztecs, but the game is still a reliable college football pick option.
Last week, in the Aztecs’ first test of the season, facing UCLA, they were beaten 35-10. On the other hand, Oregon State showed its dominance again, crushing California-Davis 55-7.

San Diego Folds Against Competition
In the season’s first game, the Aztecs faced Ohio, beating them 20-13. It was an evenly matched game, with College Football spreads only favoring San Diego State by two points. Quarterback Jalen Mayden led the way with a solid performance.
In the second game, the Aztecs had a clear advantage over Idaho State, favored to win by 34½. San Diego State only won the game 36-28, with another solid performance from Mayden, especially running the ball for 132 yards and two touchdowns. However, the cracks begin to show with Mayden passing for 85 yards on 19 attempts and the Aztecs having three turnovers.
Against UCLA, the cracks busted open. San Diego State lost 35-10, despite college football game predictions setting the line at 13 points favoring UCLA. Mayden struggled, throwing three interceptions, with his running ability being completely removed from the game, rushing for 18 yards on nine attempts.
What makes San Diego State’s loss to UCLA more concerning, now facing Oregon State, is that the Aztecs defense gave up 550 total yards, allowing 10.5 per pass and 6.5 per rush.
Oregon State Early Betting Success
Early in the season, the Beavers have been an excellent option for College Football betting picks. Oregon State has covered both games this season, with lines set at -14 and -24. A big reason for that has been the team’s offense.
When facing San Jose State, winning 42-17 in Week 1, transfer quarterback DJ Uiagalelei went off, passing for 239 yards and three touchdowns while rushing for two more scores. Then, in Week 2, Uiagalelei did not need to be dominant, with running back Damien Martinez taking off for 104 yards and a touchdown on seven carries. Uiagalelei still contributed three more scores, with the Beavers win over California-Davis.

Oregon State’s offense has put up 923 yards in two games, 457 passing and 466 rushing. This level of balance by an offense will be able to have its way with San Diego State’s defense, leading to another big game for the Beavers’.
The only question is, can Oregon’s State defense hold San Diego State’s offense down like it did in the first two weeks? It seems likely, given that the Beavers have allowed 12 points and 227 yards per game.

San Diego State vs Oregon State Best Bet
With how good Oregon State’s offense has been and the struggles of San Diego State’s defense, it seems clear that the Beavers will have another big offensive day. That puts the Beavers in a good position to cover the -25 spread for College Football picks.
Holding the Aztecs offense in check could prove to me more of a challenge for the Beavers than in Week 1 or 2, but Mayden’s turnover problems could level things out.
College Football Best Bet: Oregon State -25 -110
