Deion Sanders’ Colorado team is a 7-point favorite versus Colorado State in the College Football odds. The over-under is set at 58 points.
To paraphrase the now viral quote goes from a certain politician, “Fool me once, shame on you. …You can’t get fooled again.” Yet, here I am after two weeks of defending Shedeur Sanders and company.
The Buffs are 0-2 ATS to open the season, but can a pep talk from Coach Prime give us the faith needed to believe? Hard to tell, but what we do know is that Colorado State is out to avenge a double overtime heartbreaking loss at Folsom Field in 2023.
Let’s take a look at how to bet this rivalry matchup.
Best Ways to Bet Colorado vs Colorado State
Coach Prime vs Jay Norvell: The Colorado-Colorado State Rivalry Continues
Last season, we all remember the sunglasses and hat controversy as Colorado State coach Jay Norvell appeared to throw shade at Deion Sanders for wearing his hat and sunglasses.
Coach Prime took it personally and claimed Norvell was insulting his mama. Sanders then incorporated his mother into his pregame speech.
The problem is Colorado nearly lost the game despite the Buffs being a double-digit favorite in the college football odds. Despite all the hype and motivation, Colorado State was narrowly close to pulling off the upset. Norvell attempted to take the high road this time around but still believes Colorado State should have been victorious in 2023.
Coach Prime addresses the derogatory statements made by Jay Norvell’s family about Shedeur Sanders:
“I met his wife and she was delightful.”

“We had a team meeting today and we kind of framed the game and talked about last season,” Norvell explained, per USA Today. “We lost a double-overtime game where we had 18 penalties.
“We had four turnovers, two in the red zone. We had three touchdowns called back. You just can’t win games that way. It was still a double-overtime game and a game that we should’ve won.”

Colorado vs Colorado State Pick: Prime Time for the Rams to Cover
We came out backing the Buffs in Week 1 to comfortably cruise to victory against North Dakota State. Instead, the Buffaloes were in danger of losing to the Bison (confusing, I know) before Travis Hunter’s late heroics.

Then comes Week 2 and I double down on Colorado versus Nebraska. I defend the loss as NDSU being better than people think. Yet, It was a colossal no-show by Coach Prime’s crew versus the Cornhuskers.
So, here we are in Week 3 and we’re back to the whole “fool me once” thing. Even if Colorado jumped out to a 2-0 start, this matchup would still have major warning signs.
Colorado State is out for revenge, and it’s getting harder to defend. The key to being a good bettor is to admit your mistakes.
