SEC Championship Game Props: Bowers, Milroe Among Top Bets

When the season began, Georgia and Alabama were the picks to be the last teams standing in the SEC according to college football betting lines and sure enough, the Bulldogs and Crimson Tide will meet in Saturday’s SEC Championship Game.

Nine SEC teams are eligible for bowls with six teams from the conference in the Top 25 in the latest College Football Playoff rankings. However, all eyes will be checking out the action in Atlanta this weekend as Georgia goes after a second straight SEC title. Alabama looks to pull off the upset and hope that is enough to secure one of four spots in the College Football Playoff field.

Georgia is listed as the 5½-point favorite, according to our sportsbook. The teams will square off with the opening kickoff shortly after 4 p.m. ET.

Georgia continues to sit atop the College Football Playoff rankings. Alabama is eighth, Missouri is ninth, Ole Miss comes in at No. 11 followed by No. 13 LSU and No. 21 Tennessee. Georgia received 111 of the 125 first-place votes to remain at No. 1 in the two national polls.

When taking a peek at the college football predictions, keep in mind that Georgia (+200) fell behind Michigan in the odds to win the national title. Alabama is tied for fourth at +950 in the championship odds.

Here’s a look at some SEC Championship Game prop bets and NCAA football odds that those who bet online might want to consider.

Time To Rock with Brock

It has been nearly two months since Georgia tight end Brock Bowers recorded a 100-yard game as injuries spoiled what was looking to be a spectacular season.

Bowers was held out of the regular-season finale against Georgia Tech but expect him to be good to go as Georgia looks to punch its ticket into the College Football Playoff field.

In the two games Bowers played after coming back from injury, he had 10 catches for 94 yards with a pair of touchdowns.

The touchdown props are enticing but we’re going with Bowers at +108 to have at least 71 receiving yards. It could be worth entertaining the +127 Moneyline for Bowers to have at least 81 receiving yards.

College Football Pick: Georgia’s Brock Bowers to have at least 71

Milroe To Strike Paydirt?

It can be a little risky going with Alabama to throw touchdown passes when the Crimson Tide get into the red zone since quarterback Jalen Milroe is a threat to run the ball down near the goal line.

Few people expect Milroe to finish with more passing yards than Carson Beck of Georgia. However, it is worth a “what the heck” bet for Milroe to have more touchdown passes than Beck.

When looking at the college football picks this week it could be worth going with Milroe to have more TD passes than Beck considering that Beck has 22 TD passes and that is one more than Milroe.

Milton Is Ready To Deliver for Georgia

The injury to Alabama’s top rusher Jase McClellan is limiting the running back props for the SEC Championship Game.

While going with Milroe at +104 to have at least 52 rushing yards might be a little tempting, it might make more sense to roll with Georgia’s Kendall Milton with +108 odds to have at least 66 rushing yards.

Daijun Edwards is Georgia’s top rusher but over the last three games, Milton has rushed 41 times for 349 yards and five touchdowns while Edwards has run the ball 36 times for 148 yards.

Alabama QB To Hit The Ground Running

Milroe tends to score his touchdowns in bunches as 11 of his 12 scoring runs have come in four games.

He doesn’t have a touchdown run in each of the last two games after scoring four times against LSU and three more times versus Kentucky.

This does not feel like a game that is going to be dominated by the defenses so Milroe’s running ability when the Crimson Tide get near the goal line could be crucial when it comes to the college football games this weekend.

Bond Ready To Come Through Again?

Isaiah Bond had the biggest catch of Alabama’s season and one of the signature moments of the 2023 college football season when he snared a pass from Milroe on a 4th-and-goal from the 31 as Alabama found a way to edge Auburn in the Iron Bowl and keep its national title hopes alive.

While Jermaine Burton is the big-play receiver for Alabama, it is Bond who leads the Crimson Tide with 39 catches.

It has been a bit of a roller-coaster ride for Bond as he has five games with less than 25 receiving yards. He has had at least 75 yards on four occasions.
