Stanford vs Utah Prediction, Game Preview, Live Stream, Odds & Picks
The Stanford Cardinal enter this not-so-pivotal game dead last in the conference to take on the No. 13 Utah Utes.
The Utes took care of business in Week 10 against Arizona with a 45-20 win. Meanwhile, Stanford was embarrassed by Washington State 52-14. It was the fourth game in a row they failed to score more than 16 points.

Let’s check the latest CFC championship, stats, injury reports, and college football betting lines for Stanford vs Utah. We’ve plenty of college football spreads for you to consider.
Stanford 0-4 Versus Ranked Opponents
Stanford’s mega-upset over Notre Dame is fading into the distance, and reality is returning. The Cardinal put together great wins back-to-back against the Irish and Arizona State. Notre Dame was a fluke, as Stanford’s offense played awful. They have scored 16 points or less in four straight and have 27 combined points in their losses to UCLA and Washington State.
It probably won’t surprise you that Stanford also has a terrible record against the spreads at 2-7. The Cardinal are 1-3 ATS as underdogs of 14 points or more and are not a good matchup against Utah.
It’s hard to choose between Stanford’s 106th-ranked scoring offense and 112th-ranked scoring defense, which is worse. Lately, it’s been the offense by a wide margin.
Quarterback Tanner McKee has flashes of brilliance and 2,208 passing yards, but he makes too many mistakes with an INT/TD ratio of 11/7 and a QBR of 49.0. He’s been struggling more lately, with two interceptions and one touchdown combined in his last four starts. He’s also a liability when the pocket collapses with -60 rushing yards and three fumbles when he has to get it done with his legs.
If you haven’t guessed, I don’t have much faith in Stanford to move the chains, or the scoreboard, on Saturday in Utah.
Utah on 13-0 Win Streak at Home
Utah may be a two-loss team, but they are the reigning Pac-12 champions and 5-1 in conference play; they are still in the running for a repeat.
Cameron Rising leads this offense from under center but has been pretty inconsistent of late. He went off on No. 7 USC for 415 yards and two touchdowns but had just 151 yards against unranked Arizona in Week 10. Despite this, Rising is a guy I can trust because he’s thrown three picks all season and just one in his previous four starts.
His QBR is the 7th best in the nation, so I’m willing to ignore his up-and-down yardage totals. It helps that while Utah won 52-7 the last time they played Stanford, Rising had just 140 yards and no touchdowns.
That brings us to a Utah ground attack that combined for 441 yards and six touchdowns last season. Tavion Thomas did the most damage with 177 yards and four scores. He was one of three backs to surpass the century mark against Stanford.
A blowout of that caliber is hard to expect, but given how these two teams are trending, winning by 25 or more is well within reach for the Utes.

Stanford vs Utah Head-to-Head
Despite sharing a conference, Stanford and Utah have only played seven times since 1995. Utah is 5-2 all-time and on a 2-0 streak, with victories in 2018 and 2021. Utah won 52-7 in Week 10 of the 2021 season and easily covered -10.5.

Stanford vs Utah Betting Lines
Stanford vs Utah Prediction
I don’t love spreads that stretch into the 20s, but Stanford has shown it has no tools to stop Utah’s offense. Rising will manage the game, keep the chains moving, and pass when needed. But it’s Thomas, Jaylon Glover, and Micah Bernard that are going to bring Utah its 14th straight home win.
The Stanford Cardinal is listed at +1175 in our Vegas NCAAF lines. This means that if you wager $100 on Stanford, you have a chance to win $1175. The Utah Utes are -2500, offering a chance to win $4 on a $100 wager.
The implied probability attached to the betting lines gives Stanford a 7.84% chance to win, with Utah at 96.15%.
