The loss to Texas State proved costly not only for the Bears reputation, but Baylor also lost their starting quarterback Blake Shapen to an injury. As we warned heading into Week 3, Texas struggled during the majority of the team’s win over Wyoming in what was a classic potential letdown spot. The matchup was tied heading into the fourth quarter, but ultimately the Longhorns did enough to remain undefeated.

The previous week Quinn Ewers picked apart the Alabama defense to lead Texas to one of the program’s biggest victories over the last decade. The Longhorns have plenty of playmakers to attack Baylor including Xavier Worthy, Adonai Mitchell and tight end Ja’Tavion Sanders.

All this leads to the important question of whether Baylor will be overwhelmed by Texas’ offensive firepower. Baylor will also need Robertson to lead their own offensive attack with success to keep pace with the Longhorns.

Weird things have happened in Waco, and this will be the final Big 12 edition of the matchup as Texas moves to the SEC in 2024. As we head into this Texas showdown, look for the Longhorns to keep their unbeaten streak alive, but I like Baylor to take advantage of the home crowd to cover the 15-point spread in the Week 4 college football lines.
