Take Baylor To Cover vs Texas in Weekend Football Betting
Texas looks to remain undefeated as the Longhorns take on Baylor to begin Big 12 play. The Week 3 college football lines have Texas as a 15-point favorite on the road against the Bears.
The over-under is set at 51.5 points in the college football odds. If you glance at the college football rankings today, Texas sits just behind Georgia and Michigan at No. 3 as they take on an unranked Baylor squad.

Glancing at the football scores from the weekend, Baylor notched their first victory of the season in Week 3 with a 30-7 win over Long Island University. Texas survived a potential letdown by pulling out a 31-10 victory over Wyoming after scoring 21 unanswered points in the fourth quarter.
This is a challenging game to handicap given the recent history of this series. Baylor has shown a little extra juice when the Bears have squared off against those signature white helmets of the Longhorns. Texas and Baylor have split the last four matchups with the Longhorns winning last season’s contest 38-27.

Will the Real Baylor Please Stand Up?
After losing by 11 points to Texas State, Baylor nearly pulled off a surprising upset against Utah in a game the Bears led 13-6 heading into the fourth quarter. The Utes needed to drop 14 straight points in the fourth quarter and have an advantageous no-call on potential pass interference during the final play of the game to walk away victorious.
🚨UPSET🚨
Texas State, led by LSU/Auburn transfer QB TJ Finley, knocks off Baylor on the road 42-31‼️

The loss to Texas State proved costly not only for the Bears reputation, but Baylor also lost their starting quarterback Blake Shapen to an injury. Mississippi State transfer Sawyer Robertson is filling in as QB1 during Shapen’s absence. Will we see the Baylor team that challenged Utah or the Bears squad that struggled against Texas State?
Texas Survived Being on Upset Alert vs Wyoming
As we warned heading into Week 3, Texas struggled during the majority of the team’s win over Wyoming in what was a classic potential letdown spot. The matchup was tied heading into the fourth quarter, but ultimately the Longhorns did enough to remain undefeated.

The previous week Quinn Ewers picked apart the Alabama defense to lead Texas to one of the program’s biggest victories over the last decade. The Longhorns have plenty of playmakers to attack Baylor including Xavier Worthy, Adonai Mitchell and tight end Ja’Tavion Sanders.

College Football Pick: Longhorns Win But the Bears Cover
All this leads to the important question of whether Baylor will be overwhelmed by Texas’ offensive firepower. Baylor will also need Robertson to lead their own offensive attack with success to keep pace with the Longhorns.
Weird things have happened in Waco, and this will be the final Big 12 edition of the matchup as Texas moves to the SEC in 2024. As we head into this Texas showdown, look for the Longhorns to keep their unbeaten streak alive, but I like Baylor to take advantage of the home crowd to cover the 15-point spread in the Week 4 college football lines.
“Texas is gonna Texas…”@MichaelHaag_ told me today everyone on Baylor’s campus is skeptical of the whole “Texas is back” deal.
