The Volunteers head to Oklahoma for their first true road game of the season. The college football spread has Tennessee favored by seven points. Another number to consider is the 57-point spread.

It might surprise some who bet online to realize that Oklahoma has converted a higher percentage of drives into the end zone into touchdowns than Tennessee has in the early stages of the 2024 season.

Oklahoma has 10 TDs in 13 red-zone drives while the Volunteers’ 21 red-zone trips have resulted in 14 touchdowns. Tennessee has not allowed an opponent to score a touchdown in four red-zone drives this season.

The Oklahoma defense is only allowing 2.2 yards per carry this season, but the Sooners have not faced a running back like Sampson yet in 2024.

Sampson has at least two touchdowns in every game this season. He is at +150 in the college football lines to score at least twice against Oklahoma.

If not for Arnold’s two scoring runs, the Oklahoma Sooners might have suffered their first loss of the 2024 season to Tulane last week.

Tennessee likes to spread things around in the passing attack with 11 players having at least three catches through the first three games of the season. That makes projecting the touchdown scorers a little daunting.

Tulane transfer Chris Brazzell scored his first touchdown for Tennessee in last week’s 71-0 win over Kent State. Brazzell leads the Volunteers with 10 receptions. At 6-foot-5, he is going to be a nightmare to contend with in the red zone.

Oklahoma has allowed the 10th-most passing yards per game among SEC teams so there should be opportunities for Brazzell and his fellow pass catchers to be on the end of passes from Nico Iamaleava.
