2 Betting Keys for Tennessee vs Vanderbilt
1. Is Tennessee Overrated as an 11-Point Favorite?
There is a case to be made about Tennessee being slightly overrated. The Volunteers are still a good team, but they were found out against Georgia two weeks ago, and the Bulldogs aren’t as strong as usual.
They will be tested on Saturday against Vanderbilt which loves an upset. Also, being a -11 favorite could put pressure on the Volunteers. They were only 10 points better than Kentucky earlier this year, and that’s worth looking at.

Tennessee was expected to breeze past Kentucky at home, and we think a similar game will play out here. Despite what the online sportsbook suggests, we don’t think Tennessee is 11 points better than Vanderbilt, so it’s a tough line to accept.
Their last road game was a 31-17 loss to Georgia, so that shouldn’t give bettors much confidence. Vanderbilt is good enough to cause them some issues, and although Tennessee should win, it might only come by a touchdown.
2. Why Vanderbilt Can Cover the Spread Against Tennessee
Being a six-win team doesn’t give the Commodores enough credit for their season, which has included some quality upsets.
They defeated Alabama and Auburn, and they lost to Texas 27-24. Those performances are worthy of a bowl spot, which they earned with a hard-fought upset win over Auburn.
“This is a great moment for our program and one that we need to celebrate the right way,” Vandy coach Clark Lea said. “I think if you look at where we’ve come in, I guess, what amounts to 11 months now, we’ve had an incredible journey. I feel like in December we probably hit rock-bottom coming out of last season.”
We like the +11 line available with NCAAF odds, which is worth snapping up. They are good enough to win the game outright (+308 if you’re feeling risky) or lose by a touchdown, and we can’t see them getting blown out of the water in front of their home fans.
Following their win over Auburn, we have been disappointed by them. They lost to South Carolina 28-7 before falling to LSU 24-17. However, the loss to LSU came on the road, and they were in the game for the most part.
Getting +11 from our BetUS sportsbook is too good to overlook.

Best Bet for Tennessee vs Vanderbilt
Our college football picks have Vanderbilt to cover the spread and we’re including over 48½ points in our NCAAF parlays.
It should be an open and high-scoring contest, and with time running out to impress, they will want to show off their best offensive skills.
Our strongest bet of the game is Vanderbilt +11. It’s far too many points for the home side, so back that option with confidence.
