Don’t blink when the Texas Tech Red Raiders face the Arkansas Razorbacks in the Liberty Bowl on Friday. Despite the transfer portal whittling these teams down, expect a fast-paced and high-scoring game.
We’ll put faith in the coaches to scheme up enough offense to make the overs worth betting given the NCAAF lines. But as far as picking a winner, we’ll go with the team still with its starting quarterback.

4 Best Texas Tech vs Arkansas Bets for Liberty Bowl
1. Arkansas ML (-120)
We had to double-check this number, but per NCAAF news, the Razorbacks have already lost a whopping 27 players to the transfer portal. This includes a trio of starting offensive linemen, a cornerback in Jaylon Braxton and tight end Luke Hasz. Still, they have their quarterback in Taylen Green, and that’s why they have the edge here.
Green should still have enough support to lead his team over the Red Raiders, especially with Texas Tech’s already-porous defense losing its defensive coordinator. We’re more comfortable putting our money on a dynamic quarterback who can adapt better to a chaotic game.
Bet This Pick: Arkansas Razorbacks (-120)
2. Arkansas Razorbacks -1 (-110)
Doubling down on Arkansas, the college football spread is only one point. The Razorbacks are just 2-4 against the spread (ATS) in their last six games while Texas Tech is 4-1 ATS in its last five. But throw everything out the window given all the roster turnover.
🚨 𝗡𝗘𝗪𝗦: Per @CravenMike of @dctf, Texas Tech QB Behren Morton will miss the Liberty Bowl after having shoulder surgery. Will Hammond will get his first start as a Red Raider. pic.twitter.com/ENzGtx63Pi

We can’t back a team starting an untested quarterback who looked spotty in his last appearance. Maybe Will Hammond will be solid as the new starter. That still doesn’t cover how awful his defense could be. And if this becomes a shootout, our NCAAF pick is with the Razorbacks’ starting QB and coaches outdoing the freshman and Texas Tech.
Bet This Pick: Arkansas Razorbacks -1 (-110)
3. Arkansas Points – Over 26.5
We’ll reiterate in more detail why Arkansas will score all over Texas Tech despite losing half of its offensive starters. Per Arkansas vs Texas Tech stats, the Red Raiders already rank 122nd in the nation in points allowed per game (34.5) and 118th in yards per play allowed (6.37). In five of their last eight games, they’ve allowed 35+ points.
This includes opponents like Cincinnati (88th in points per game) and Oklahoma State (71st). Arkansas averages 30.3 points (48th) and 6.43 yards per play (23rd). It scored 31 against Ole Miss and 35 against Louisiana Tech, which had a pretty solid defense considering its small-time status. Bet online on Arkansas’ points to go over.
Bet This Pick: Arkansas Total Points – Over 26.5
4. Texas Tech vs Arkansas Over 52
Arkansas will score plenty of points but it will also yield a lot. It gives up almost 25 points per game and will now miss a good chunk of its defense. That allows Texas Tech to score, especially with coach Joey McGuire pumping up his boys.
Most of Arkansas’ recent games have gone under the total. But this one should resemble more of a Texas Tech game with each team scoring in the 30s. Five of its last six games have gone over the total for a reason. The 52-point total is not large enough on the sportsbook. Take the over in NCAA football predictions.
Bet This Pick: Texas Tech vs Arkansas Over 53.5
