Just when you think Arkansas is back to its best, it fails to deliver on a consistent basis.
The Razorbacks looked good when handing Tennessee its only loss 19-14, but followed it up with a 34-10 loss to LSU. However, in true Razorback fashion, they followed it up with a 58-25 win over Mississippi State before the 63-31 loss to Ole Miss.
Our expert betting picks have featured the Razorbacks many times in 2024, but we’re finding it tough to back them this week. Losing by 32 points at home isn’t good enough, and despite coming off a bye, their confidence levels are low.
Coach Sam Pittman was upset by not only the loss, but the effort shown by his team vs Ole Miss.
“Very disappointed. Felt like we had them ready to play,” Pittman said. “Obviously that wasn’t the case.”
Getting a +13 start is sizable, which is why there has been more money for Arkanas since markets opened. We’re not surprised that money came for the Razorbacks at +16½, but we expect there to be less interest at +13 in online betting.
The defense will need to stand up and deliver. Allowing Ole Miss to score 63 points isn’t good, and the Texas offense knows how to put points on the board.
