Texas on a 1-2 Slide
The Texas Longhorns fell out of the Top 25 last week after suffering a 17-10 loss to TCU. It was their second loss in three weeks and their third to a ranked team.
Both teams are dealing with quarterback issues. For Texas, their starter, Quin Ewers, is going through a rough patch. He’s gone under 200 yards passing in three of his previous four games and had a terrible day against No. 4 TCU on Saturday with zero touchdowns and a QBR of 21.0. Ewers’ struggles coincide with the Longhorns‘ 1-3 record against the spread over the last four weeks. Before that, they were 5-1.
Passing isn’t their only option, however, with RB Bijan Robinson tearing up the turf. with 1,158 yards rushing. He saw a seven-game streak of 100+ yard games snap against TCU with a paltry 29 yards on 12 carries. It was his lowest yardage total of the season by a lot.
Question Marks at QB for Kansas
The Kansas QB situation is on a knife edge heading into Week 12 with backup QB Jason Bean banged up. He was limited at practice on Monday, coming off the loss to Texas Tech. Why do we care about the backup QB? Because the starter, Jalon Daniels, has been out for the last four games.
But, there is a light at the end of the tunnel as head coach, Lance Leipold, told the press that “he’s close” when asked about Daniels’ return. If neither can go, backup Ethan Vasko will start under center.
What happens between now and Saturday will be a massive determining factor toward how Kansas is going to stack up. As of now, they are nearly double-digit underdogs without knowing who is starting on Saturday.
What we do know is that the Jayhawks are 1-3 straight up and 2-2 against the spread with their backup QB. With Daniels, however, Kansas was 5-1 ATS

Texas vs Kansas Picks & Prediction
The Longhorns have not covered a spread against Kansas in seven years. With the struggles they are having right now, I don’t like their chances to snap that streak.
I do, however, like the chances of Daniels returning to action and carving up a soft Texas secondary.
