Fixing Flaws…and Fast
It’s been a rough start to the season for the 0-2 Hamilton Tiger-Cats. Hamilton began by getting trashed by Saskatchewan, then blew a 24-point lead and lost to Calgary in overtime. After just two weeks, the “Tabbies” are allowing the second-most points in the CFL. Rubbing salt on their wounds, quarterback Dane Evans is banged up.
There are a lot of holes in this team, among them their running game. The Tiger-Cats are averaging just 26 rushing yards per game (3.3 yards per carry). The offensive line is still working out its kinks. It’s doing a better job at pass protecting, but run-blocking leaves much to be desired.
Defensively, the Ticats have failed to generate any pressure on the quarterback. The team has just one sack on the season, contributing to opposing QBs completing two out of every three passes against them. It’s still early in the season, so Hamilton may be worth a bet online if they get it going.
Blue Bombers Continue Rolling
It’s no surprise the Winnipeg Blue Bombers remain the team to beat. As the favorites to win the Grey Cup per the sportsbook’s outright odds, That was evident in their pair of games against Ottawa. winnipeg was getting torched by Ottawa quarterback Jeremiah Masoli, who threw for 711 yards, completing 51-of-72 attempts (70.8 percent).
However, the 2-0 Bombers held strong as its “bend, but don’t break” defense kept the Redblacks out of the end zone. Winnipeg conceded just one touchdown, despite giving up 825 ghastly yards. Offensively, the team received timely plays from its quarterbacks, whether Zach Collaros or Dru Brown.

Wide receiver Greg Ellingson has proven to be more than a capable replacement for Kenny Lawler, as he’s scored touchdowns in both games. Winnipeg still has a lot of room to improve, despite the 2-0 start. The best is not here yet.
Tiger-Cats vs Blue Bombers Head-to-Head
The Blue Bombers are 3-0 in their last three games against the Ticats. The last time Hamilton defeated Winnipeg was at the start of the 2019 season, when Winnipeg still did not have Collaros as its quarterback. Winnipeg has covered all three spreads, and the total went under in two of the three meetings.
