Tulane Headlines Group of Five Best College Football Bets Nov. 24 & 25

This week, the Group of Five bets are some of the best and most interesting of the college football season. There are a number of teams vying for a trip to their respective conference title games, and that’s where the bulk of the attention lies for these picks. While a number of games stand out, it’ll be the “must win” or “win and get in” spots that we’re targeting for our college football picks this week.

Tulane Caps Stellar Season With “Win And Get In” Victory Over UTSA

As incredible as it may seem, the No. 23 ranked Tulane Green Wave hasn’t yet punched its ticket to the AAC title game. This is due to the fact that while they’re 7-0 in conference play, the same stands true for both SMU and UTSA. Tulane faces UTSA on Friday in a game where it controls its own destiny so that a win would lock up a trip to the AAC championship game against either SMU, regardless of the result of the Mustangs’ game against Navy.

While UTSA has been rolling of late and has put together an impressive 8-3 record this season, Tulane has played with a target on its back all year and still posted a 10-1 record this year. UTSA is a dangerous opponent, and all three teams are exceptionally talented, but Tulane gets the benefit of playing this pivotal game on its own home field, and that makes the difference here.

Even still, I’ll play it safe and buy the half point to get the Green Wave at -3 instead of -3½.

Boise State Keeps Impressive Late-Season Run Going in Pivotal Game vs Air Force

Boise State doesn’t control its own destiny, but a victory over Air Force on Friday afternoon would put them in a great position to potentially grab a spot in the Mountain West title game, pending the result of the San Jose State vs UNLV game on Saturday afternoon. It’ll be a stress-filled night/early Saturday if they do win, but first thing’s first, the Broncos have to defeat the Falcons at home.

While Air Force was 8-0 just three weeks ago, it’s been a tough stretch for the Falcons, who’ve dropped three straight games and now find themselves in need of a victory as well to get into the championship game. But Boise has won back-to-back games by 25-plus points and scored 42 and 45 points in the two victories. I’m riding the hot hand here and sticking with the home team to get the job done.

Ian State Does Its Part in Pursuit of Sun Belt Title

It’d take a lot of convincing to make me believe this App State team just stunned James Madison, handing the Dukes its first loss of the season, only to fall to Georgia Southern in a pivotal Week 13 matchup. While the Mountaineers don’t control their own destiny in terms of playing for the Sun Belt title, if they win and Coastal Carolina loses to James Madison, they’ll face Troy in the title game.

While Georgia Southern is no slouch, holding a 6-5 mark this season, App State is at home in front of a crowd who knows what’s on the line here, and they play at the same time as Coastal Carolina and James Madison. Gear up because this one should be a huge game, and I think the Mountaineers will run away with it.

Question Of The Day

Which team will have the biggest opportunity to win this week?

I’ll take Appalachian State coming off its impressive win over James Madison last week. In order to have a shot at contending for the Sun Belt title, they’ll need first to defeat Georgia Southern.
