The Georgia Bulldogs are whopping -42 favorites against the Massachusetts Minutemen on Saturday, and we think NCAAF odds are correct.

There is a sizable class advantage with the Bulldogs, who have slipped out of the top 10. However, a big win over the Minutemen could be enough to see them get back into the thick of the top rankings.

2 Keys to Bet on UMass vs Georgia

1. Fade Minutemen in Weekly Picks

The Minutemen are big underdogs for a reason, and it’s because they come off losses to Mississippi State 45-20 and Liberty 35-34.

That form doesn’t bode well against one of the best teams in the country, and they will do well to limit the Bulldogs to under 40 points. Per UMass vs Georgia stats, the Minutemen allowed 45 points against Mississippi State and 35 against Liberty, so the warning lights are flashing.

Getting a chance to face one of the best teams could make them play with more enthusiasm. Quarterback Taisun Phommachanh will need to be better than his totals of eight touchdowns and six interceptions, but running back CJ Hester has been good with 400 yards from 91 carries.

Compared to Georgia’s Trevor Etienne, who has 477 yards from 95 carries, Hester doesn’t look all too bad. He has been facing easier opposition, but UMass could rely on him to get yardage in what will be a tough game offensively for the 42-point underdogs.

2. Back Bulldogs Despite Huge Spread

We don’t think any expert betting picks will have Georgia losing the game, but covering a 42-point spread makes life difficult. The Bulldogs need to score on most of their plays to cover the spread, but it’s entirely possible.

The Massachusetts defense is suspect at best, and with the Bulldogs scoring 31 points on Tennessee last week, they should have confidence heading into this game against an FBS independent team.

Carson Beck should have a big game at quarterback. He has been shaky at times, but he could rack up four to five touchdowns on Saturday, and that could see his game elevate to another level.

The way we were able to bounce back from last week, I’m just so proud of these guys,” Beck said. “The word that really identifies us is resilient. We stay so composed in high-pressure moments. Although it might not look perfect, it might not look pretty, we’re gonna get the job done.

The Bulldogs can’t afford to rest on their laurels, but we expect Georgia to come out firing and cover the spread in our NCAAF predictions. The Bulldogs are the much better team and they have already put up big scores on inferior teams.

Bet on Georgia -42 vs Massachusetts

Bet on Total Going Over

Georgia -42 is a good bet, and we’re also including over 55 points in our college football picks today.

The Bulldogs could score 55 points themselves, and we think Massachusetts is good enough to score one touchdown, which will help the over cash for bettors. There is good value with the line, and we envision Georgia scoring a big total on Saturday.
