All of us love a good underdog in the college football lines. It’s hard to believe but we’re quickly moving toward the one-month mark of the season. We’re going to take a look at the best dogs to back in Week 3.

There’s a few ways you can play these CFB picks. The most aggressive way to take all four moneylines on the college football lines with the hope that at least one or two hit. Another way would be to simply take the underdogs against the spread (ATS) and pick a couple of your favorite ML bets.

Either way, it is a week to choose your own adventure. Here’s a look at the best underdog picks for Week 3.

4 Best CFB Underdog Picks in Week 3

1. Florida (+4) Could Give Texas A&M Trouble at Swamp

This was one of my early CFB picks after Florida unleashed freshman quarterback DJ Lagway against Samford in Week 2. Now, head coach Billy Napier is talking about Graham Mertz resuming the QB1 role now that he is healthy with Lagway being utilized in special packages.

Even with Mertz, the Gators have a chance to pull off the upset against the Aggies. I do like Florida’s chances a lot better with Lagway playing quarterback.

With Napier fighting for his job, you would think the coach would be eager to start Lagway. Florida is still a strong moneyline play when you bet online.

2. South Carolina (+7) a Threat to LSU

Kentucky was a popular pick to wax South Carolina in Week 2, but it was the Gamecocks that came away with the 31-6 blowout win. South Carolina Gamecocks is being led by a pair of freshmen in dynamic quarterback LaNorris Sellers and pass rusher Dylan Stewart.

Losing to USC is no embarrassment, but I still have overall questions about how good this Tigers team can be this season. LSU is on upset alert against a surging South Carolina squad.

3. Backyard Brawl Has Pitt (+3) Looking Juicy Versus West Virginia

This one feels like a coin flip, and if you take Pitt you are getting three points. Pitt survived a dreadful start against Cincy to steal a comeback victory.

Former highly touted recruit Eli Holstein transferred from Alabama to Pitt this offseason. Holstein has the Panthers’ offense looking much more dynamic in 2024.

Pitt is a strong bet in the NCAAF odds at +3, and aggressive bettors can also make a play on the moneyline instead.

4. Tulane (+13.5) Looms as Threat Versus Oklahoma

Tulane nearly upset Kansas State in Week 2. Now, the Green Wave faces a vulnerable Oklahoma team that was on the ropes versus Houston.

Tulane is nearly a two-touchdown dog at the BetUS sportsbook odds, so the moneyline bet is a big ask. Still, at +417 odds, it’s worth a flier to bet on the Tulane Green Wave to pull off the upset, but taking Tulane ATS could be the safer play.
