Both Texas A&M and Southern California were hoping to be playing in bowl games with more on the line than the Las Vegas Bowl. However, the Trojans finished tied for ninth in their first season in the Big Ten while Texas A&M dropped its last three SEC games. The college football odds list the Aggies as the betting favorite.
USC has won all three meetings against Texas A&M. However, the teams haven’t played since 1977. The Trojans are 36-21 in bowl games compared to a 20-23 mark for the Aggies.

Quarterbacks Conner Weigman of Texas A&M and Miller Moss of USC were both in the top 20 in the odds of winning the Heisman Trophy at the start of the season. However, it will be freshman Marcel Reed at quarterback for the Aggies as he looks to snap a stretch of four games in a row with an interception. UNLV transfer Jayden Maiava will make his fourth consecutive start for USC.

USC will also be without offensive linemen Gino Quinones and Amos Talalele and receiver Kyron Hudson. Texas A&M won’t have receiver Cyrus Allen and offensive lineman Hunter Erb.
Compared to other bowl games featuring teams from the Power-4 conferences, there isn’t too much attrition so keep that in mind when making Las Vegas Bowl picks.
Texas A&M was ranked in the top 10 in the national polls in early November before hitting a rough patch.
