Don’t Underrate Washington State

If the Cougars were playing at home, wwe believe BetUS Sportsbook could have them favored to beat the Broncos.

They are unbeaten after four games, and that includes quality wins over Texas Tech, Washington and a double-overtime victory over San Jose State last week.

We believe they deserve a ranking, and despite those wins coming at home, they could handle their first road test against a team that faced only the Portland State Vikings at home last week.

We have been impressed with the arm of quarterback John Mateer, who has already racked up 1,102 yards for 11 touchdowns. The dual-threat quarterback also has 425 rushing yards and five scores on the ground.

Mateer could make the difference, and getting the Cougars at +7½ could be too generous for bettors to ignore.

Ranking the Broncos

The jury is out when it comes to ranking the Broncos. They are in the Top 25, but they had a chance to beat Oregon and couldn’t come up with the goods.

It was a road game, so we’re happy to give them credit for the 37-34 loss. They opened the season against Georgia Southern, which put up 45 points on the Boise State defense.

That’s not a good sign, but there is good market confidence following a 56-14 win over Portland State. Boise State, which will join the Pac-12 in coming years, will lean on running back Ashton Jeanty, who had six touchdowns in their opening game and nine this season.

“Obviously, it goes without saying, but Ashton Jeanty is the best player in the country,” Boise State coach Spencer Danielson said. “That was on full display tonight.”

The Cougars will need to keep Jeanty under wraps, which is easier said than done, as he’s the Broncos best chance of covering the spread according to our expert college football betting predictions.

Washington State’s defense will need to be on high alert for Jeanty, especially after giving up 52 points to San Jose State last week, with the game going into two extra periods.
