On the flip side, Vanderbilt was busy getting smoked last week but nearly covered as 31-point road dogs in their 33-7 loss to Ole Miss. This week, the competition won’t be nearly as stiff and the venue will be far friendlier as the game will not only be held at the familiar confines of FirstBank Stadium in Nashville but it is also Homecoming Weekend.

It’s no secret the Commodores are struggling mightily this season with a 2-7 record but when we compare them to the Tigers, there isn’t a great statistical difference between the two. Auburn averages only a point per game better than Vanderbilt (26.8 compared to 25.7 PP, respectively).

We should also understand that Vanderbilt has a decent passing offense, ranked 52nd in the nation and averaging 242.9 yards per game, while Auburn has one of the most anemic aerial attacks in the nation, averaging 169 passing yards per game which places them 119th in the nation.

Auburn will be leaning heavily on the ground-and-pound attack while Vandy will take to the air. The Tigers will likely emerge victorious but it wouldn’t surprise me if they won by less than 10 points, which means getting Vanderbilt at +18½ is pure value we can’t ignore in our college football picks

When considering our bowl game predictions NC State needs a few more wins to solidify a bi, which is why this game against a talented ACC foe like Miami is so critical this Saturday. And if the Wplfpack play like they did against Clemson last week in a 24-17 victory as 10-point home dogs, then they might not need any points at all to get the cover.

Miami has won its last two games but both went into overtime, The Hurricanes fashioned a 28-20 double overtime win against Clemson and last week notched a 29-26 overtime win against Virginia Tech as 19-point favorites, according to the college football odds.

When these teams throw down, the games have been traditionally close as 3 of their last 4 meetings have been decided by 7 points or less. Add to that Miami has struggled to cover on the road with a 2-7 ATS mark over its last nine contests away from home.

Would it surprise anyone if the Canes were worn out after their last two games took three overtimes to finish? Let’s grab the points with NC State and watch these teams play another tight one.
