Weekly NCAAF Teaser: Let’s Have Another Winning Week With Cardinals, Blazers

1st Teaser Leg: Kentucky vs Louisville (-7 ½ to -1 ½)

The line on this game has ticked up just a half-point but it’s a critical hook because NCAAF betting fans must now lay north of a touchdown on the Cardinals which is why seven is the second most important number in football handicapping, trailing only the magic three.

If you’re leaning on Kentucky then you got a break but it takes a lot of money for the books to move off -7 because it opens them up to getting middled or sided. However, the chalk-eaters like me don’t have to worry about betting the Cardinals having to traverse such critical numbers as 7, 6, 4, and 3 because we’ve got the power of the teaser behind us!

Louisville is 11-0 over their last 11 home games with an average margin of victory of 25 points per contest while the closest win came by three points. I don’t think the 6-5 Wildcats have the requisite talent to stick within the margins against a team that towers above them in all the major statistical categories and has a pristine home record dating back to early last season.

Our online sportsbook has the Cards listed at -7½ but we’ll knock that all the way down to -1½ so we don’t have to sweat the bet or worry about a backdoor cover by Kentucky.

2nd Teaser Leg: UAB (+3 to +9) vs North Texas

This will be one of the least viewed games of the day as we have a pair of teams squaring off from the lightly-regarded AAC. However, that means there will be less scrutiny by the oddsmakers which is not a bad thing when you’re betting sports.

I will grant you that North Texas has the home-field advantage but I’m still not sure why they are being offered as the favorite in this game. According to my NCAAF score predictions, I see UAB winning this game by a touchdown or more, yet the Blazers are getting a full-field goal head start!

We should note that UAB is 6-0 against the spread in their last six games against North Texas, winning five of them outright, while the Mean Green are 1-4 straight up in their last five contests.

This should be an aerial show as both teams rely on their top 20 passing attacks to get the job done but UAB has Jacob Zeno pulling the trigger, who completes a stunning 74% of his passes. That surgical precision will ultimately tell the tale and give the Blazers another victory over their conference rivals from North Texas. But we’ll take the additional points just in case it’s close.

  • College Football Pick: UAB +9
