The Gamecocks did not get up for last week’s game against WKU. This was evident in their total of only 17 points, the fewest in conference games. The last time Jacksonville scored that few was a blowout loss against then-ranked Louisville. We don’t expect this to happen again and that is r the online sports betting odds.

Not only is Jacksonville favored by 4.5 points but the total remains relatively high at 58 points (down from 62 last week). Jacksonville sports a high-octane rushing offense, which scores an average of 37 points and gains 260 yards on the ground (second-most in the nation). Of course, the Gamecocks have bloated stats due to their weak strength of schedule (ranked the third-easiest). Still, we expect Jacksonville to gash Western Kentucky as the Hilltoppers have awful rushing defense, per Western Kentucky vs Jacksonville State Stats.

WKU gives up over 206 rushing yards per game, which ranks as one of the worst even with a weak schedule. This is partly why the Hilltoppers are just 1-4 against the spread (ATS) in their last five games. They’re also just 4-4 ATS in conference games.

Jacksonville has been steadier. It is 4-2 ATS as a home favorite and 5-3 ATS in conference games. Last week was a write-off, and we’ll get the real Gamecocks in this game. The Gamecocks will run the ball with glee and get into scoring range frequently. With Jacksonville’s fast pace and turnover-forcing defense, the Gamecocks can go three-and-out and get the ball back and score.
