Defending Pittsburgh is a much different team from the one that made the surprising run to winning the ACC title. Still, the Panthers are in a much better position than Georgia Tech. The Yellow Jackets fired head coach Geoff Collins and athletic director Todd Stansbury not long after a 27-10 loss to UCF last Saturday. The only thing keeping Georgia Tech from a winless season to date is at triumph over Western Carolina, an FCS program.
Georgia Tech did have a season-high 442 yards as the Yellow Jackets outgained UCF by more than 100 in the swan song for both the head coach and AD.
The Yellow Jackets have issues on both sides of the ball and are ranked 13th of 14 ACC teams in both total offense and total defense. Pittsburgh is fourth in the conference in total defense.
Pittsburgh (+1400) is tied for fifth in the odds to win the ACC title. Georgia Tech comes in at +25000 according to the sportsbook.
The Panthers are priced at +50000 in the odds to win the national championship, as per the college football lines.
Pittsburgh remained 24th in the Associated Press poll and broke into the American Football Coaches Association poll at No. 24.
Let’s check the latest NCAAF odds, stats, injury reports, and NCAAF lines for Yellow Jackets vs Panthers. We’ve plenty of Vegas NCAAF odds for you to consider.
Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets
Quarterback Jeff Sims has had turnover issues in his three seasons as the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets starter. This season he has two TD passes and two interceptions in the first four games. He is coming off a season-high 314 yards against UCF. Nate McCollum leads Georgia Tech with 18 catches and 158 receiving yards while Malachi Carter has 153 yards on his eight grabs.
The Yellow Jackets are 11th in the ACC in rushing offense. More of the issues are on the other side of the ball as only North Carolina has allowed more yards among ACC squads than Georgia Tech. The Yellow Jackets have allowed 20 offensive plays of at least 20 yards.
Georgia Tech has failed to cover against the college football betting lines in six of its last seven games.
Pittsburgh Panthers
It is probably not fair to expect Kedon Slovis to come in and produce at the level Kenny Pickett did during his final season as the Pittsburgh Panthers‘ starting quarterback. Still, more is expected from the former USC quarterback than two touchdown passes and one interception in three games. His season-high of 308 passing yards came in the season opener against West Virginia.
Even after missing the last game, Jared Wayne has 13 catches for 265 yards in three contests.
A key to the offense has been junior running back Israel Abanikanda who has run for 479 yards on 5.8 yards per carry with six touchdowns.
The top 14 tacklers are either juniors or seniors so it shouldn’t be a surprise that the Panthers have one of the better defenses in the ACC. Senior SirVocea Dennis leads the way with 27 tackles and three sacks. The defense will be key as the Panthers begin the quest to repeat as ACC champions.

Pittsburgh is 1-4 against the college football picks over its last five games.
Yellow Jackets vs Panthers Injury Report
Not much has gone right at Georgia Tech, however, the Yellow Jackets have been pretty healthy for much of the first four games.
For Pittsburgh, defensive lineman Deslin Alexandre (arm), tight end Gavin Bartholomew (arm), running back Rodney Hammond (leg), quarterback Nick Patti (leg) and receiver Jared Wayne (upper body) are questionable.
Yellow Jackets vs Panthers Head-to-Head

Yellow Jackets vs Panthers Prediction
There could be easier ways to move forward following the firing of Collins than to face Pittsburgh on the road.
Georgia Tech has lost its last five ACC games and is 1-9 over its last 10 contests while Pittsburgh has won its last five conference games.
Both teams at +3 in turnover margin. However, there are some issues up front of offense with Pittsburgh tied for ninth and Georgia Tech tied for 12th in sacks allowed.
The total has gone under in each of Georgia Tech’s last six games.
Pittsburgh has covered in just one of its last six home games but it is hard to go against the Panthers in this one. The line has moved from 23½ to 22 in the last day.
