Joey Chestnut Wins His 15th Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest

Eats 63 Franks But Comes Up Well Short of His Record of 76

Joey Chestnut remains the Big Dog.

The food-eating legend devoured his competition in winning his 15th Nathan’s Hot Dog East Contest on Monday.

He ate 63 hot dogs, and if you bet the under of 74.5 at BetUS, America’s Favorite Sportsbook, you cash.

The great Chestnut was unable to break the world record of 76 hot dogs but he still was lengths — links? — better than his foes.

Chestnut stuffed a pair of hot dogs in his mouth at a time and followed with the buns in classic style.

The King of the Hot Dog Mountain was eating injured. He had suffered a broken leg and there were complications after it that kept him off the Competitive Eating Circuit for much of 2022.

“It was a crazy contest,” Chestnut said. “New York is amazing there is no place like it in the world.”

It mattered not as he remains the owner of the Mustard belt, something he certainly relishes.

There was some drama but Chestnut handled the interference like a champ.

Second place was 47.5 by Geoffrey Esper.

On the women’s side, Miki Sudo, who had a baby on July 8, 2021, returned to devour 40 dogs in 10 minutes to regain her title.

In another side event, Eric “Badlands” Booker downed a gallon of Nathan’s lemonade to capture that event. The organizers didn’t reveal Badlands’ time but the previous mark was 37 seconds. Badlands went sub 30.
