Big Year for Stokes

The career of Stokes hasn’t always been smooth sailing, but that’s what makes him a personality.

Born in New Zealand before moving to England as a child, the England cricket star comes off an excellent year as captain of the national team.

Cricket might not be a big sport in the United States, but it’s a global sport with millions of followers, especially in England, where the BBC Sports Personality of the Year is awarded.

Stokes, who was given an OBE by the Queen in 2020, won the 2019 BBC Sports Personality of the Year, so he’s back for another tilt at the title.
