All you need to know about VALORANT’s New Agent Harbor
It was only a few days ago that teasers began appearing on the web revealing that VALORANT’s “Agent 21” was a water-controlling Indian citizen. Although it was already known for some time, Riot did not dare to unveil its content. Now, just a few days before the start of Episode 5, Act 3, Harbor, the new controller, has been fully announced. He is an elegant and gentle character who can change the face of the battlefield with his dominant aquatic abilities, and he will be arriving very soon.
Not too long ago, Riot did release a short trailer explaining how Harbor acquired his abilities and finally joined VALORANT. Looking beyond the lore for a moment, it’s safe to say that Harbor is going to cause a real stir in the game when he appears in Act 3, which kicks off on October 18. There’s no doubt that Controller mains will love him, and those with the bending ability will be scrambling with them to instagram the suave and charming character.

The arrival of Harbor was accompanied by an exciting 50-second clip, revealing him to be quite the action hero. Riot has since expanded on the information, releasing a video on Twitter that explains how Harbor will act in the game. Turns out he’s not just a pretty face: he’s also a tactician gifted with the ability to control water in numerous strategic ways, so without further ado, here’s a breakdown of Harbor’s core abilities:
- Cove: Equip a sphere of shielding water that blocks bullets.
- High Tide: Equip a wall of water – guide the water in the direction of your crosshair, spawning a wall along the water’s path.
- Cascade: Equip a wave of water and send it rolling forward and through walls.
- Ultimate ability Reckoning: Summon a geyser pool on the ground – enemy players in the area are targeted by geyser strikes that concuss them.
Controller players will have a blast splitting the map with Harbor’s abilities. He’ll be a great alternative to characters like Viper and Astra, and after the plant, he’s sure to be an absolutely beastly character, but how popular will he be in VALORANT esports?
On October 18th, Act 3 will launch, bringing Harbor into the VALORANT line-up. There are also rumors of a new game mode set to surface, an ability-enabled team deathmatch mode that sees players race to be the first team to land 100 kills in total. There’s also a vast UI update coming, which impacts the main menu and the post-match screens to a great extent.
Of course, Act 3 will also bring the usual assortment of cosmetic items and a completely new battle pass for players to rank up. Riot has apparently gone all out on this update, improving the game engine as much as possible, reworking the visual flows and applying a number of fixes where necessary.
