BIG Teammate Shares How Coach Gob B Has Helped the Team Become Better

If you are into CSGO betting, then you have noticed that in the last couple of weeks, BIG have become a better CS GO team, after Fatih “gob b” Dayik decided to leave VALORANT to return to Counter Strike around May as their new head coach, replacing previous staff member Niclas “enkay J” Krumhorn.

Gob b is no stranger to strategy as he was the previous in game leader for the team, known for his large tactic depth during his professional playtime. Gob b managed to guide BIG to consistently good results in June including: a semifinal spot at IEM Dallas, third place in Pinnacle Cup Championship, and most notably a first place finish in the Roobet Cup. It’s amazing to have Gob b on deck, according to BIG’s rookie player Karim “Krimbo” Moussa, who was recently promoted from BIG academy’s team at the start of March.

Krimbo stated via a press conference prior to the start of IEM Cologne:
“He is really focused on the players’ individual skills, performance, and vision of the game,” “I think exactly the same way gob b is thinking and feeling the game, so it’s easy for me to trust him completely blind. He is doing every job I did in the past. I can focus on my set. Obviously, we are talking a lot about game plan and tactics in general. So he can add on top of me as well. I had no coach who’d criticized me for a long time, no one to have a deep talk with, so to say.”

BIG’s gameplay has not evolved, it mainly focuses around executes and teamplay for years, mostly because of Gob b’s view and strategies on how CS GO should be played on a high level. After he decided to retire in August 2019, the in-game leadership responsibility was passed to Johannes “tabseN” Wodarz, who played alongside gob B for a couple of years, and he kept the tactical structure from the old days as BIG fans are accustomed to.

Since then, BIG did have great results and won small titles, but they never really threatened to become a top four team in the world aside from a short period during the online era of CS GO in 2020 caused by the pandemic. Krimbo said that the team didn’t have a coach “like” Gob B for a long time and mentioned how his guidance was key to improve in and out of the game.

Krimbo mentioned: “Gob b is more like a father figure for me. He is a legend. I watched him playing when I was a kid. When I was 13 or 14, I saw him playing on the highest stage of CS. He gives the team so much confidence and has a solution for every problem any player has. He’s a real blessing for everyone here, especially for me as a young player. He can share everything he’s been through his career and his experience.”

BIG got defeated by Outsiders in a best-of-3 series at IEM Cologne 2022. They were unable to pick up a single map win though the games were very close. BIG still has a long way to go to be considered one of the best teams in the world, though their recent Roobet Cup win against FaZe (which not even the best esports betting sites accounted for) was a huge step for them.
