BLAST Premier World Final 2022 Set to be Celebrated in Abu Dhabi

A total of eight of the best CSGO teams in the world are set to travel to Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates in December 2022 to compete for the $1 million BLAST Premier World Final prize pool, currently the most prestigious tournament of the BLAST Premier circuit and their most exciting event for all the CSGO betting fans.

The event will run from December 14th to 18th and will be the first organized competition in collaboration with local juggernaut company Abu Dhabi Gaming, which BLAST decided to create a three year partnership with. The BLAST Premier World Final is set to be played at the beautiful Etihad Arena on one of the most lucrative islands in the region, Yas Island.

As of this moment, only two CSGO teams have secured and booked their spot in the BLAST Premier World Final. Starting with FaZe Clan, who earned their spot after absolutely dominating ESL Pro League season 15 and the PGL Antwerp Major tournament, while Natus Vincere guaranteed their spot after winning the BLAST Premier Spring Finals.

The other spots will be most likely filled by the winner of the Fall Finals competition, the winner of the soon to come IEM Rio Major, and the winner of ESL Pro League season 16. The other three teams will be picked taking into account the BLAST Premier’s global leaderboard, which currently include as possible candidates and the ones with the CSGO odds in their favor: ENCE, Vitality, G2 Esports, OG Esports, NIP, and Furia.

Esports in Abu Dhabi

The overall idea behind bringing the tournament to a place like Abu Dhabi is to reach new audiences within the region, whilst delivering new and interesting esports experiences to both teams and spectators alike.

BLAST Premier’s managing director Charlotte Kenny further explained: “As part of our host cities process, we are always on the lookout for leading locations and arenas all around the world, Abu Dhabi is the perfect location to follow on from this month’s highly successful Spring Final in Lisbon and November’s Fall Final in Copenhagen”.

“The World Final will follow in the footsteps of popular sports such as UFC, F1 and NBA in hosting major events in Abu Dhabi and the remarkable Etihad Arena provides the perfect stage for our World Final event.” she added.

The region itself is no stranger to the esports ecosystem, as the fighting game community has been growing rapidly, specially in Street Fighter V and Tekken 7. Nevertheless, games such as League of Legends, Valorant, Dota 2, and CSGO have not shown their face outside of show matches.

It is quite a long flight for the majority of teams either secured of their spots or looking to fight to get into the tournament. However most organizations are thrilled to visit a brand new region for a competition, as especially CSGO tournaments have been locked by European, North American, or South American countries.

More information regarding the ticket sales and location is set to be announced at a later date this year, according to BLAST representatives. An exciting opportunity is on the horizon for CSGO, hopefully the luxurious environment will propel the esports scene within the region.
