BLEED sign Hampus

Hampus “hampus” Poser has joined BLEED Esports as the In-Game Leader for their approaching lineup. The Swede, who replaced Jonas “Lekr0” Olofsson in May 2020, is joining the team on move from Ninjas In Pyjamas, where he played for more than three years. Having led a team for the majority of his time in Ninjas in Pyjamas, Hampus is not unfamiliar to team leadership. The Swede became a member of the group in May 2020, and at PGL Antwerp and PGL Stockholm, he assisted Ninjas in Pyjamas to appearances in 2 major playoff games.

Former NIP player Hampus

Hampus experienced a lot of upheaval during his time on NIP, playing with 13 separate colleagues and 9 different rosters. Nicolai “device” Reedtz, a legendary Danish player, was one of them, and it was at IEM Fall RMR 2021 that Hampus won his 1st and sole career trophy. Then, at the beginning of 2023, he abruptly stopped competing. This happened not long after he gave Aleksi “Aleksib” Virolainen IGL responsibilities and the team began speaking English. In June, he took his place in the starting lineup, but he was quickly replaced by Alejandro “alex” Masanet.

Hampus has a solid gaming history in CS:GO. The Swede eventually found a permanent home at Ninjas in Pyjamas, during which he performed for three years, from 2020 to 2023. For the most part of his tenure with the Major-winning team, he led the team in games, so it seems like a natural fit for him to take on this role at Bleed. It is possible to question Hampus’s integration with CS2 itself. Although the 25-year-old has several years of CS:GO experience, he has never participated in a professional CS2 match. It’s evident from the many months of professional and community debate that these 2 games don’t play precisely alike, which may require hampus to acclimate for a while.

The IGL and the primary AWPer were two important BLEED criteria, and based on the hampus selection, the 1st portion of the task was effectively finished. Kassad, the new coach, mentioned this. In keeping with its goals, BLEED chooses to step outside of Asia in order to develop a truly global roster for its CS2 project. Despite having established a solid reputation in games like VALORANT, Dota 2, and Rainbow Six Siege, this is a big step that highlights their ambition for worldwide influence in the e-sports industry.

The team is handling this CS2 business with extreme caution. It took a good month before revealing even 1 of its players after hiring 1 of the more reputable coaches in the scene. The decision to reveal Hampus first is also consistent with Kassad’s statement that the roles of primary AWPer and in-game leader were the first two he intended to fill.

Presently, BLEED is hard at work assembling its roster for the upcoming season, with the first qualifying competition, PGL Major Copenhagen 2024: European Open Qualifier 1, set to kick off on January 8. One significant move in this direction is the purchase of Hampus.
