BOOM will take Bleed Esports’ VCT Pacific place
- Riot announced that Bleed Esports will no longer be taking part in VCT Pacific 2025.
- According to the official statement, the organization’s removal was brought about by its noncompliance with crucial reporting criteria.
- The 2024 Ascension Pacific tournament runner-up, BOOM Esports, will take their position.
Riot Games revealed that Bleed Esports had been kicked off of VCT Pacific, which was a startling development. Just after the VCT 2024 regular campaign concluded, this news was released. Riot Games also revealed in a statement that Boom Esports, the VCT Ascension runners-up, will be upgraded to the VCT Pacific league in 2025. Bleed Esports lost its seat in Valorant’s franchised league on October 4th after failing to fulfill important reporting criteria and other important duties as stipulated in their contract with Riot Games. This implies that the squad will not take part in any additional VCT competitions or events in 2025, including the Valorant Champions Tour 2025: Pacific Kickoff. They will also lose out on money from customized in-game skin sales, which is a substantial revenue stream for businesses involved in the VCT ecosystem.
Despite Riot’s official statement stating that it notified all impacted players as soon as it took the decision, Bleed gamers on X claimed they had been fired virtually overnight and were already looking for other employment. By October 7, VCT Pacific rosters will be locked, leaving the former Bleed players frantically trying to locate new residences.
Note that Riot Games has previously had to issue a public statement regarding a team receiving a promotion through VCT Ascension. The Guard won VCT Ascension Americas 2023 and earned a spot in the VCT Americas League. The organization announced its closure after this competition. G2 Esports brought the players on board as a result, and they were permitted to participate in the 2024 season.
BOOM will now compete in VCT 2025

Riot Games pushed BOOM Esports, the 2024 Pacific Ascension runner-up, to close the deficit left by BLEED. BOOM won VALORANT Challengers Indonesia Split 2 and demonstrated their potential as a strong team, despite just losing out on the top slot in Ascension. Now that they get the opportunity, BOOM can demonstrate their mettle against some of the top teams in the Pacific.
Leo Faria, Global Head of VALORANT Esports at Riot Games, denied allegations that VCT teams were being dropped ahead of schedule, and this move was made just one month ago. Faria had previously said that no modifications would be made until the partnership cycle of 2027, but the elimination of BLEED establishes a precedent for failing teams to be fired before their contracts are up.
While Riot’s action has stirred criticism, it confirms their commitment to respecting performance standards throughout the league. Fans of VALORANT in the Pacific region may expect new thrills for the 2025 season with BOOM rising to the occasion.
