Cloud9 Zven continues to proof roleswaps can actually work
After Cloud 9’s convincing victory against old-school rival TSM, one of the current best support players in the LCS has managed to hit an impressive accolade. Jesper “Zven” Svenningsen has officially hit 200 career wins in the LCS, adding one more achievement to his collection. The League of Legends veteran has gone through a plethora of ups and downs in the North American scene ever since he made the overseas trip over the Atlantic to shake hands with TSM going into the 2018 season.
Six years later, Zven made a switch within the same league by signing with C9 and has since won 3 LCS trophies. As many fans are aware of, Zven used to be a bot lane main even when he first played in the LCS, however as soon as Cloud 9 discovered the talent behind Kim “Berserker” Min-cheol back in 2022, Zven took a step back from the hyper role and focused on nurturing what the organization believed to be the up and coming best player in LCS history.
Of course, it is rather obvious to say his experience as a raised bot laner played a key role going into his new position as support, and now as mentioned above, he fully focuses on creating the best environment and learning process possible for Berserker.

It is important to note that Berserker is already being considered the best LCS bot laner by a mile in 2023, but his true potential has yet to be achieved. As of the moment, their focus has been around Zven’s leadership and micro shot calling within the laning phase, this has been enough to win against every single bot lane in the league, but the real question is, will it be enough to have international success?
In 2023, Berserker is currently recording the highest KDA in the league, while Zven claims the most assists, according to League of Legends statistics website Oracle’s Elixir. It seems to be a match made in heaven for Cloud 9, as both players like to approach the game with a similar aggressive and dominant play style.
Domestically they are one of the main reasons Cloud 9 is a threat for all teams since the squad also boasts top-class talent in the other 3 lanes. We expect to see some sort of changes going into the later stages of the season, as the team prepares to make a push and enter the coveted Mid Season Invitational.
Watch the Zven/Berserker duo plus other stars in action once more when they walk into the stage on Friday, February 10th against Evil Geniuses.
